ESL India and Nodwin Gaming have revealed that the grand final of the Premiership Fall Finals will be replayed between 2ez and Slaughter Rage Army, with the winner replacing OpTic India at ESL Pro League S8 Asia.
The official announcement from the Indian organisers takes place a day after Esports Integrity Coalition (ESIC) banned former OpTic India member Nikhil "forsaken" Kumawat for five years for cheating from all ESL, Nodwin Gaming and ESIC-partnered events until October 25th, 2023.
ESL India confirmed on Monday that the company found the exact same cheat software in forsaken's solid state drive (SSD), which was used during the ESL India Premiership 2018 Fall Finals (Oct 13-14). OpTic India went on to secure the title after defeating 2ez and Slaughter Rage Army in the semis and grand final, respectively.
ESL India have come to a final decision with ESL Global and confirmed that a rematch will be played between 2ez (losing semi-finalists to OpTic India) and Slaughter Rage Army (losing grand finalist to OpTic India).
The best-of-three rematch will take place online on Sunday, October 28th at 10:30. The winner will earn the right to represent India at the ESL Pro League Season 8 Asia playoffs (dates to be confirmed).
*Update: Contacted by HLTV.org, Product Head of ESL India Premiership at Nodwin Gaming Aditya "Ad1" Shah confirmed that both teams will be playing the match online from internet cafes, where ESL India will be sending out admins to oversee them.
