HLTV Confirmed episode 8 recap
Instalment eight in our live talk show series focused mainly on the Indian cheating scandal, in which forsaken was caught using a cheating software on LAN and later issued a five year ban.
We've collected some highlights from the show for those of you who weren't able to watch it live.
Naturally, the forsaken cheating scandal was the prime focus in the episode, and HLTV.org had invited the Indian CS:GO Analyst Sudhen "Bleh" Wahengbam to analyse how this could even happen at an event in 2018.
Bleh revealed that he, along with several others, was involved with scouting out the players for the OpTic India roster when the company was holding tryouts for the team. Many in the Indian and Asian scene had been accusing forsaken of cheating before he was picked up, but everyone in the Indian event business felt he had proven himself as he had shown up on LAN before the debacle without using cheats:
Closing out the discussions about the scandal, Bleh went on to say that he doesn't think the Indian scene will take much damage from it, but that it will, conversely, come out of it even stronger:
Moving on to analysis of the ongoing EPICENTER 2018 event in Moscow, the issue of FaZe's lack of results recently was touched upon. The panel agreed that the organisation behind the team ought to step up and do something about the slump, with Senior Writer Milan "Striker" Švejda saying arguing that roster changes are needed:
The conversation moved to the mentality and antics of the young stars in CS:GO, as the panel discussed whether youngsters in the scene are too cocky. Touching also on the recent ban wave in FPL, the crew recounted their own youth to ask whether you're truly aware of the consequences of your actions at a young age. The show's host, Lars "Yossarian" Esmarch had the following story to tell about his days as a young athlete:
