Natus Vincere are out of the tournament after a shocking 2-0 defeat to BIG, while Luminosity remain alive following their 2-0 victory against AVANGAR.

The Group B lower bracket match between Natus Vincere and BIG started on Dust2 with the T-sided BIG winning the pistol round thanks to a triple kill by Johannes "nex" Maget. Natus Vincere got on the scoreboard in the fourth round which they won off the back of Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev's double kill.

Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz dominated the following round as he got a triple kill to put his team 4-1 ahead. Natus Vincere then went on an eight round streak to lead 9-4 and finished the half 10-5 ahead.

The second pistol round was also won by BIG as Fatih "gob b" Dayik got a triple kill. After winning two more rounds, BIG lost against pistols which started a three round streak for Natus Vincere who led 13-8.

BIG sent Natus Vincere packing

BIG were unfazed by this losing streak and won seven rounds in a row to earn two match points. They closed out the game in the 30th round and on their second try, winning the map 16-14.

Natus Vincere was on the T-side in the first half on Inferno and secured the pistol round after Denis "electronic" Sharipov and Egor "flamie" Vasilyev’s opening kills. Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko clutched a 1vs2 to make it 3-0 and a double kill by electronic in the fifth round gave them their fifth round.

tabseN got a quad kill with an AWP to win the tenth round and s1mple returned the favor by clutch a 1vs4 in the following round (8-3). The CIS team lost three of the last four rounds in the first half and finished the first half 9-6 in front.

The second pistol round was all about nex who got an ace to win the round despite a 2vs4 disadvantage. When the secore was 13-13 Tizian "tiziaN" Feldbusch clutched a 1vs3 and got the ace to put BIG 14-13 ahead. The German team closed out the map 16-13 and took the series 2-0. With this defeat, Natus Vincere have made their exit from the tournament.

The Kazakhstani team claimed four of the following five rounds and Ali "Jame" Djami's 1vs3 clutch in the 22nd round made it 14-8 in their favor. Luminosity managed to pull it back and got within one round of AVANGAR after a 2vs2 retake. Luminosity grabbed the last three rounds to win the map 16-14.

Luminosity remain alive in Chicago

The match continued on Train where Bektiyar "fitch" Bahytov got a triple kill to put his T-sided team 1-0 ahead. Luminosity won the third round with Scouts and SMGs which started a streak that would last ten rounds.

AVANGAR took the last three rounds in the second half to trail 10-5. Jame & company also found the first two kills in the second pistol round but Luminosity salvaged the round to extend their lead to 11-5. S1mple dominating the stat padding gun saver eco warrior role, he’s so good at it. That’s why he can never win when electronic can’t carry his ass, he doesn’t play to win, just to get his numbers up.

because no time for practice. Practice is everything and that's why BIG is getting better and better but sometimes lose very hard when they had less practice and tactical training
2018-11-07 21:43
Imo this is why Astralis are ahead. The players and the org realizes the team needs time to practice so they will make hard choices and skip big tournaments in order to stay on top.

I'd speculate team sponsors having something to do with it. If you look at Astralis they don't really have the same type of sponsors like other teams, so maybe they don't get pressured as much to attend events.
