November 8th, 2018 13:23

ESL has announced that it will host a four-team tournament in Bucharest early next month with €50,000 (~$57,000) on the line.

The tournament will be held at the Romexpo indoor arena as part of the Bucharest Gaming Week on December 9, one day after the finals of the ESL Southeast Europe Championship, the biggest league in the region.

The winner of the SEE league will be joined by two invitees and by the winner of an online qualifier in the tournament, which will feature a single-elimination, best-of-three format.

Four teams will square off for their cut of the €50,000 prize pool

The open qualifiers will be held on the next two Saturdays and will both have three spots in the closed stage up for grabs. The six qualified teams will be joined by two invitees local to the SEE scene in the closed qualifier, scheduled for November 26-28.

Registration for the open qualifiers can be done via the following links:

Qualifier 1 (November 10) - Register
Qualifier 2 (November 17) - Register

The prize money breakdown for the tournament is the following:

1. - €25,000 (~$28,555)
2. - €12,500 (~$14,275)
3-4. - €6,250 (~$7,135)

It’s an upset Just like when LG lost to Tyloo in 2016 or when Astralis lost to Gambit in 2017 or when FaZe lost to NIP in 2017 Shit teams sometimes manage to beat top teams and that’s what we call an upset

@CHLEBOWY_LUDEK, Cluj Napoca has 300k population, while Bucharest has 1.8 million, so should be higher audience.

new fags thinking $57K is nothing... half the cs veterans spent their careers competing for $10K events and much less. name the last time you got paid $5K for 2 days work?
2018-11-08 14:52
+1
2018-11-08 15:21
Past =/= present, dumbass.
2018-11-08 16:40
You don't earn $5K in 2 days so time is not relevant. Money = Money, dumbass. It may not attract the best players in the world who earn $5K quite easily but it's still a good amount and will attract many Tier 2/3 teams.
2018-11-08 17:39
50k for a team IS nothing most of the teams money come from sponsorship deals anyway, these tourneys are nothing for a t3 team i guess it kinda is something, but not much
2018-11-08 17:35
You clearly don't live in the real world. You watch teams turn up and be proven wrong. It's 100% worth a travel just not for Tier 1.
2018-11-08 17:38
definetly worth, teams want to prove themselves in competition,so they can climb the tiers?? its hardly about the money,it'sjust some bonus
2018-11-08 17:40
never said it's not worth
2018-11-08 17:40
not about money... i'm done you seriously have no clue. I guess you haven't heard of business either? lets make that a rhetorical question, i'm not reading your response.
2018-11-08 17:42
lmao dude, there are hardly any prize money for these t3 teams, where do you think a team like imperial, kinguin, fragsters pays their players,1-2k per month per player??? definetly not from the prize money they earn, thats enough for nothing they get the money from elsewhere, its much more complicated than, going to tournaments and winning money to make a living you wanna go to the tournaments to prove to your team that you are worthy of your salary, getting your team more publicity, that fcking 50k is just to top it off
2018-11-08 17:45
oh btw yellow teeth fuckface guess this will attract your attention clueless fag
2018-11-08 17:47
Lets remember now, how they played for nothing (for fun) , when cs was just released. Dumbass comment, not even one tier 1 team would care about this amount of money. They would get same $$ from HyperX for month.
