Groups and schedule for ECS Season 6 Finals revealed

With less than a week remaining until the start of the ECS Season 6 Finals, FACEIT has revealed the groups and the schedule for the $660,000 event.

ECS Season 6 Finals will take place in Arlington, Texas, USA with eight teams in attendance. The group stage will be played out in the first two days and will use a GSL format. The opening games will be best-of-ones while all other matches get played as best-of-threes.

The groups were seeded based on the standings at the North American and European ECS divisions. Astralis headlines Group A alongside mousesports and MIBR, while Liquid will take on the likes of NRG and NiP in Group B to get through to the playoffs.

Astralis are in Group A

The playoffs at the Esports Stadium in Arlington will have a single-elimination, best-of-three format and will feature the top two sides from both groups. Following two semi-finals on Saturday, the grand final will be held on Sunday with the winning team taking home $250,000.

The groups can be found below:

The complete schedule is as follows:

Thursday, November 22
16:00 | Denmark Astralis vs. Europe Cloud9 | BO1
17:30 | Europe mousesports vs. Brazil MIBR | BO1
19:00 | United States NRG vs. Sweden NiP | BO1
20:30 | North America Liquid vs. Denmark North | BO1
22:00 | Group A winners' match | BO3
01:00 | Group B winners' match | BO3

Friday, November 23
16:00 | Group A elimination match | BO3
19:00 | Group B elimination match | BO3
22:00 | Group A decider | BO3
01:00 | Group B decider | BO3

Saturday, November 24
19:00 | Semi-final #1 | BO3
22:00 | Semi-final #2 | BO3

Sunday, November 25
18:30 | Texas Collegiate Showdown | BO1
19:30 | Movember ECS Showmatch | BO1
22:00 | Grand final | BO3

Groups look fair to me. All teams have a chance to reach playoffs. Group A: 1. Astralis 2. mouz 3. C9 4. mibr Group B: 1. Liquid 2. NIP 3. North 4. NRG

Yes, Kio has been showing up big. They've had very close games with good teams, even with Valens standing in. This team is an odd mix, but I feel like they might surprise some people here!

uff bo3 grand final...
2018-11-16 16:49
It's a lot better than bo5 tbh
2018-11-16 16:51
bo5 is better only if there isn't astralis at the event
2018-11-16 16:52
Have you ever tried to watch a full bo5?
2018-11-16 16:55
yep, boston grand final, faze vs cloud9 that was absolutely insane, best major grand final for sure. bo5 it's good when you know that both teams have a chance to win and it could go like 3-1 or 3-2. but if there's astralis you know it will be 3-0 and it's ResidentSleeper
2018-11-16 16:58
The boston major final wasn't a bo5 tho. Plus, even if it's four maps it's still too long to be enjoyable, at least for me

the difference between group A and B is just ridiculous, group B has literally 3 of the most overrated team in recent history and 1 team that is just bad and everyone knows it, while group A has the best team in the world by far, 2 top tier team that you know can always step up and be insane even when theyre not really in form and that new cloud 9 team that I think is massively underrated expected teams and seeding when you do your shit thrue online CS
