compLexity, Ghost win openers at DreamHack Atlanta

Complexity and Ghost have kicked off their DreamHack Open Atlanta run on the right foot after defeating Envy and Vitality, respectively.

The first match of the day kicked off on Cache, with Complexity battling it out against Envy, who were making their LAN debut. Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan's triple-kill helped Complexity win their CT pistol, which they followed up with an anti-eco.

stanislaw's compLexity will take on the winner of Fragsters vs Rogue

Noah "Nifty" Francis's men responded well by stringing three rounds together, but they were helpless to find a convincing way to get through Complexity's tight defence. Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz's troops went on to take a 10-5 lead as they lost just two more rounds until half-time.

Although Envy managed to bag a chaotic pistol in the second half, Complexity were simply too much for them to handle, with Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker and co. quickly finishing off the match, 16-6, to advance to the Group A winners' match.

The Group B opener was also played on Cache, with Vitality debuting on LAN against Joshua "steel" Nissan's Ghost. Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt's men started off the clash in convincing fashion, winning five rounds in a row to take control of proceedings as CTs.

Even though Vitality seemed to be in charge of the match, Matthew "WARDELL" Yu responded with two consecutive triple-kills to set up Ghost for a four-round winning streak and reduce the deficit to a single round. In fact, the Americans did not let their opponents have any control of the map until half-time, though the Frenchmen won three more to secure a narrow 8-7 lead.

WARDELL led the way for Ghost with 24 kills

WARDELL opened up the action in the second half with a clean quad-kill, and his team won the following anti-eco to go up 9-8. steel then found a triple-kill with an AWP to lead Ghost to win the first gun round, and, from that moment, they kept punishing Vitality to hit 14 rounds.

Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut and co. still tried to mount a comeback despite Ghost hitting match-point in the process, but it was in vain as the North Americans closed out the map with double-kills from Kenneth "koosta" Suen and Yassine "Subroza" Taoufik, 16-12.

+1 shox best French player atm kennyasS is useless when you have Zywoo

id rather have kennyS over ZywOo becuase he is a proven talent. But we ofc havnt seen ZywOo's peak or his top game on LAN against tier 1 which could be fantastic. I think ex6tenz could help mould a young talent like ZywOo, like he did to kennyS, and teach him to work in a system and be more restrained, safe and effective french super team shox apex kennys / zywoo ex6tenz nbk but only zywoo if he can prove himself on lan, which we are yet to see (not very impressive against ghost at atlanta)

Personally I'd put Ex6 as coach and NBK as IGL and have them do the Astralis coach-IGL co-op strat. That way you can get something out of NBK's performance and yet keep a tactical system. But still, adding AmaNEk would actually make it a top 10 contender team when Zywoo gets some LAN experience.
