Cloud9 confirm kioShiMa signing

Professeur
November 17th, 2018 19:36

The iconic North American squad Cloud9 became majorly European after adding Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey to their ranks.

After playing for Cloud9 at BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen and helping the team in ESL Pro League, kioShiMa has been added to the North American team on a permanent basis.

With that, the team now has three European players to compliment the two members that remain in the team since the ELEAGUE Major Boston win: Timothy "autimatic" Ta and William "RUSH" Wierzba.

The Frenchman joins his first team after a long span on the sidelines

The team's coach, Soham "valens" Chowdhury, as well as Cloud9's CEO and owner Jack Etienne, put out statements regarding the signing of kioShiMa:

"Our search to find that elusive form from earlier this year has been long and grueling, but hopes are high. Fabien has already made a great impression, both as a teammate and player, and the team is ready to build on our exciting first step at Copenhagen. We are looking forward to show you a revitalized Cloud9 leading into the next major." - Soham "valens" Chowdhury

"I'm so proud of the way we've built this team and kioShiMa has been a great addition to the C9 family already. We're all excited to see what the team can do in competition!" - Jack Etienne, Cloud9 CEO & Owner

Cloud9 are now:

United States Timothy "autimatic" Ta
United States William "RUSH" Wierzba
Sweden Maikil "Golden" Selim
Sweden Robin "flusha" Rönnquist
France Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey

United States Soham "valens" Chowdhury (coach)

pronax earned 3 majors, so he deserve to be in any top1 team? In both case, it was 3 years ago at least. Since they both (pronax and kioshima) are washed up with 0 meaningful results.

Years struggling to get that major for NA just to be filled with EU players some months later, I guess C9 will follow the FaZe path from now on.
2018-11-17 19:55
It 's the normal path to whoever want's a competitive cs. Globalisation în a sport it 's a logic step. Try ți get the better player in the word not in a country. A logical step. Teams as astralis or ldlc fnatic nip will slowly die. (Not the team but the idea of 5 players from the same country). At first it was teams like navi verygames and even liquid. Players from similar country's or culture but the faze like teams will rise more and more

They have to compete in the EU minor if they get knocked out of the first stage for a major now (pretty sure they do have their first stage spot though because of golden tim and rush) but the spots in ECS and EPL belong to the orgs, so they're still playing in NA and likely will be going forward since there's no way rush and Tim are moving to Europe.

I think this lineup might actually do some damage :) nice, kind of a fan
2018-11-17 20:55
+1 Shame that auti took an awper role due to his rifling prowess.. I'd rather rush as an awper xD
2018-11-17 23:39

Liquid works well, but mental state of players, that are scared to win in the finals or whatever is really bad.

This makes NRG the only team to have an USA core and still be relevant world-wide. All other relevant NA teams have at least three Canadian/European players... Liquid even have a Brazilian and mibr stole two of the five NA major champions. Talking about mibr I wonder how much time FalleN will need to realize that his teams will never succeed playing speaking English.
2018-11-18 10:38
NA includes the us and canada

Yes, I'm talking about the players born in the USA. Canadians and Europeans are taking over the NA scene more and more.
2018-11-21 14:37
Now -rush -autimatic +cromen +kennys #make na EU again
2018-11-18 10:42
K1o finally has a team!
2018-11-18 11:09
People here all cry bout how its a EU team now lol. I rather focus on c9 now have a epic team that easily can go top 10 in the world, c9 is still c9 the org doesn't become eu just cause team have some from there, it's like in football.. sure there is rules for how many players from other countries you can have but it still remain in it's region
2018-11-18 12:22
