United Masters League set to start

A new online league featuring 14 rising European teams and a $150,000 prize pool, United Masters League, will kick off today.

The tournament is supported by ChallengeMe.GG and Unikrn, with the teams in competition receiving a sign-on bonus as well as becoming co-owners of the league.

Action starts today, with the round-robin best-of-two group stage running until February 8. The eight best-placed teams will progress to the playoffs after which the four best teams will punch their ticket for the LAN finals, which will take place in Osnabrück, Germany, from March 29-31.

The first set of matches will be played today, with the Balkan derby Windigo - Valiance starting off the action at 17:00 . Following that, two French squads will square off, LDLC and 3DMAX, with Windigo vs. x6tence Galaxy finishing off the day.

There's not really. Unless they want to only give 1 point for drawing, rather than having 2 BO1s and both teams getting 3 points if they tie the series.

Considering they are co-owners this probably won't be a one time event. Maybe they don't want to commit to another online league + rather focus on getting into minors.

that also crossed my mind but even if they had a surge in success and they qualified for a shit ton events + epl they are still not quite there yet also hey kinda trend downwards lately. and ence is not on any of the leagues yet. i despise online cs but its not so bad unless you are a t1 org that hsa spost in both leagues and attend offline event regularly. in ence and ss case they are not quite there yet.

ENCE are in MDL but they failed to qualify for EPL. I'd imagine they will try to get into ECS also. Also these guys look a bit sketchy with their crypto currency.

i dont think another onliine league will affect mdl performance. its not hard to get to the playoffs its hard to win them so they can still take it with ease. that does sound shady tho. i dont wanna repeat of efrag or rgn. ecs is still just qualifiers ye? i dont think faceit implemented the league system yet.
