FaZe invited to IEM Sydney
FaZe have been invited to compete at IEM Sydney, ESL has announced.
The European giants become the second team to be confirmed for the Australian event, following in the footsteps of Renegades, who were last week announced as the first invited side.
FaZe will return to Sydney as defending champion, looking to repeat this year's victory after taking down Astralis 3-0 in the final with Richard "Xizt" Landström filling in for Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer.
Currently ranked fourth in the world, Finn "karrigan" Andersen's side have just one more event before the end of the year, BLAST Pro Series Lisbon, after failing to qualify for the ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals.
IEM Sydney 2019 will run from April 30 to May 5, with the playoffs being held at the Qudos Bank Arena. There are now just six invites left as the remaining eight spots will be determined by online qualifiers for teams from Europe, North America, Asia and Oceania.
