ENCE beat G2; to DreamHack Winter semi-finals

ENCE booked a spot in the DreamHack Open Winter 2018 semi-finals with a 2-0 victory over G2 (16-11 on Mirage, 16-13 on Overpass).

Starting out as CTs on their opponents' map pick, Mirage, G2 got off to a 2-0 lead after winning the first pistol with doubles from Lucas "Lucky" Chastang and Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro. ENCE responded well and eventually equalized the score, but they could not follow that up as the former 3DMAX player found a triple-kill with an AWP.

The Finnish side, who had defeated OpTic in the Group B elimination match, went on a five-round winning streak and seemed to be in control of the map, but G2 did not throw in the towel, securing three of the next five rounds to reduce the deficit to 6-9 by half-time.

Despite bagging a pair of rounds to kick off the second half, G2 simply could not get through the stern ENCE defence from that moment, with the Finns stringing five rounds together to go up 14-8. Lucky still found a lifeline for his team with a quad-kill in the 23rd round, but Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen's men remained calm and collected to take the lead in the series with a 16-11 victory.

ENCE take revenge on G2 for the loss in the group stage

Overpass kicked off with G2 winning their third pistol of the series and three more rounds to take control of proceedings as Terrorists. ENCE replied with two consecutive rounds on the back of a triple and a quad-kill from Aleksi "allu" Jalli and Aleksib, respectively, but their opponents were still able to secure a fifth round.

ENCE immediately reset G2's economy in the next round, however, and eventually took the lead at 6-5, forcing Richard "shox" Papillon to call a tactical pause. Still, that was not enough to stop Jani "Aerial" Jussila's troops, who lost just one more round to bag a 9-6 half-time lead.

ENCE further added to their lead after winning the second pistol and the subsequent anti-eco, 11-6. G2 responded well and did not let their opponents capitalize on any round win to eventually level up the score at 13-13, but that was when allu stepped up to the plate, leading the way for his team with three multi-kills to close out the series, 2-0.

Shox calling was never a good idea. If you want to kick ex6 and keep body that frags even less than ex6 used to at least replace him with an igl. Shox is a good player but he's not a good igl and that fucks up his personal performances (said it himself). This line up has two major issues. Shox igl Body in the team They 'll never achieve anything. I know it's early but you'll see. Ocelot has made retarded choices as usual.

too a long time to post this one. god allu just way 2ez4ence -xseven +suNny top 5
2018-12-01 21:16
I'm not sure about xseven for sunny considering he is essentially the taco/styko for his team. Aleksib said in a Finnish interview that even though he doesn't have good stats he does a lot of hard lifting for them. We all know how it worked out for mibr/mouz, so idk. Sunny would definitely be an improvement, but I'm not sure who to kick. Essentially the problem where having a team full of stars won't necessarily always be the right choice. EZ4ENCE though regardless.

At this point, in order to do well, G2 need both shox and KennyS to be on fire at the same time. That explains their last results.
2018-12-01 21:31
bodyy needs to hit his shots. losing to ump who is pushing through smoke :D.
2018-12-01 22:05
This lineup does have more firepower but the problem has never really been firepower. Even with 3 boots Kenny and Shoxie never showed up at the same time. And just like this Kenny at least shows up the first map but he was just awful in the second. Got out awped by Allu, pretty easily too.

Northern lights flash in the sky. A blizzard blows, pelting on its way those too weak to withstand the fury of winter at its fullest. From the permafrost strikes a massive hand; the mythical giant once deemed dead off the coast of Italy now rises to life, regenerated, from Lappish soil. The time is due. Around the world, the word spreads. In Sweden, the best of the best cower in fear and lock themselves in the nearest IKEA retail store. The Brazilians run into the safety of the jungle, the Danes play dead in Legoland and the Slavs sprint crying to babushka’s warm embrace. Enceladus’s augurs are unleashed upon the scene. Aleksi “allu” Jalli hails from his journey spent in international teams. A man may leave Finland, but Finland never leaves a man. Once again, he picks up the green rifle, this time not for money or fame, but to smite all opposition in the name of Enceladus. Aleksi “aleksib” Virolainen leaves the fabled squad of HAVU to lead what we can finally describe as a Finnish superteam. Under his leadership shall the northern guns spit death and destruction upon foes who wail in their weakness. Jani “aerial” Jussila joins after the biggest transfer of the Finnish e-sport scene from his former team SuperJymy. No longer will he be the only stand-out player of his team, but instead, a vital ingredient of a chaotic cocktail made up of Finland’s finest. Jere “sergej” Salo thwarts all rumors of desperate Internet trolls trying to tell they know his parents who told him to stop playing. Oh, the humanity! Backed up by the forces at home, bursting from motivation like a wolf thirsting for blood, he returns to ravage everything in his path. Where skill rises to speak, experience sits silent and disciplined. Sami “xseveN” Laasanen fills the ranks from iGame, for what would the team be if they wouldn’t buy the best player from every other Finnish team? Vigilantly standing, supporting his teammates be the cause what it pleases to be, he will be the shield and sword his comrades need to achieve the ultimate. The warning has been given. The sky screams, the ground shakes and the oceans boil. ENCE is coming. #EZ4ENCE

So recycling garbage players is better option than trying new talents out? You act like they could just sign these players if they want with so much bad blood in the French scene. I do agree about the kennyS shit you said last sentence, I feel like he needs to go outside of the French scene for a new start. The sadest part I see when they are playing is kennyS is always put into a unwinnable position where he has to aggressively over peek and re peek to try to make a play with literally no support, no tms covering him it's just awful to see if you look at all the best awpers right now all of their teams do literally all the dirty work so they can focus on getting picks even though it's a brain dead meta is really effective.
