mousesports overrun Na`Vi in Odense; G2 see off HellRaisers

December 5th, 2018 20:16

mousesports are through to Group B's upper bracket final at the ESL Pro League Season Finals after dismantling Natus Vincere in a two-map series, while G2 live to fight another day after beating HellRaisers 2-1.

The standout match of the round, featuring two top 10 teams in the world, including No.2 side Natus Vincere, quickly became a bloodbath, much to everyone's surprise. It was Na`Vi's map pick, but the Ukrainians looked well off the pace during the early stages of the game and first got on the board nine rounds into the game.

Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko's men woke up after that, winning some crucial rounds with almost nothing to work with as they got constantly reset, but as the round came to an end it was impossible no to feel that they were walking on thin ice, with five rounds separating the two teams.

Now playing on the CT side, mousesports extended their lead even further, the long-distance advantage of the USPs proving to be too much for Na`Vi to handle. The Ukrainian team tried to respond in the third round, but their buy did not pay off, with Tomáš "oskar" Šťastný proving to be a nuisance with the XM1014.

Once they got their economy back on track, Na`Vi secured their first round of the half, but their hopes were soon dashed as mousesports hit back immediately to hit map point before finishing off the game in the following round.

suNny topped the scoreboard vs. Na`Vi

Train followed the same pattern as Nuke as mousesports got off to a blazing fast start on the CT side, hitting double digits without conceding a single round. Natus Vincere then finally broke through the defense with doubles from Egor "flamie" Vasilyev and Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev to overcome a 2v4 situation, but mousesports quickly regained control, bringing the scoreline to 14-1 on the back of a stellar performance from Miikka "suNny" Kemppi, who ended the half with 24 kills.

The second half began with Na`Vi taking the opening three rounds, but it was simply too little, too late, as mousesports responded with two of their own to seal a comprehensive victory - a match that raises over the Ukrainians' current state. Zeus' side will fight for survival in the lower bracket against Sharks on Thursday at 12:00, while mousesports will take on MIBR for a semi-final spot, later in the day.

Meanwhile, HellRaisers and G2 face off in a best-of-three series with their tournament lives at stake. The French side got off to a slow start on Dust2, their own map pick, as they won just one of the first seven rounds of the game, but bounced back with a fantastic CT side. Richard "shox" Papillon's men lost just one gun round over the course of the second half to win the map 16-13, with the 26-year-old ending the game with 29 kills.

HellRaisers looked much livelier on Inferno and cruised to an 11-4 lead on the Terrorist side after keeping G2's players off any economic development throughout the half. G2 kept their comeback hopes alive by winning the second half pistol, but Kirill "ANGE1" Karasiow's troops rallied back immediately, putting together a string of rounds to lock down the map at 16-5.

G2 move on in Odense at HellRaisers' expense

G2 were unfazed by the beating on Inferno, though, and hopped out to a 7-2 lead on the Terrorist side of Overpass. HellRaisers then tightened up their defense to bring the deficit to a solitary round by the end of the half, and they carried that momentum into the second half, winning six of the opening seven rounds.

Up 13-9, HellRaisers seemingly had the game in the bag, but they ran out of gas all of a sudden. The French side, led by shox, the hero of the match, kept a water-tight defence for the rest of the half and bagged seven rounds in a row en-route to a surprising 16-13 finish that puts them through to the next lower bracket round, in which they will face Renegades.

It's not always about money.sometimes respect should come first.they can become coach or do Pvt streaming.zeus can be a good coach.
2018-12-05 20:29
They are playing this game probably longer than you live. And for all these years they have already earned respect for themselves, just like neo and taz. Fragging is not the only task in cs. And when gaming od your job then yes its all about money. They will retire in max 3 years so at this time they need to make as much money as possible. Because return to a normal life and normal work can be difficult for them.
2018-12-05 21:25
If you are saying for the sake of earning money only they are staying in the team, then there are many ways to earn money.Just look at shroud , nothing skadoodle and all. They do their Pvt streaming and play exhibition matches.Even they have formed a new team with old teammates as well. Its not always about money man.Even they left competitive Cs at the time when they were way better than Edward and zeus.
2018-12-06 07:44
Zeus and Edward dont have such a fanbase as Shroud. I dont think they would ever have so many subscribers. Of course I understand your point of view, It would work perfectly well with people very recognizable like Shroud, nothing, pasha etc. but it seems to me that it would not work with Edward or Zeus.

Flamie and Edward are inconsistent.Top fragging after every 100 matches doesn't make any sense
2018-12-05 20:32
Edward is bad, hovever he was best at CT side on train, 3 rounds that Navi got is his impact 100 percent. Flamie is awful S1mple do not carry They lose ez aim duels and dont have coordination
2018-12-05 22:06
I may be a bit biased, but I feel some kind of unease from s1mples tweets, I have a feeling they're gonna climb the lower bracket in a dominating factor I might be wrong tho! I might be wrong!

2018-12-06 01:23
HLTV ranking is an HLTV's opinion and nothing more, we shouldn't take this as any valid source. IGLs who can't frag are dragging teams down, new era is all over here, they need a fragging captain and days of trial for Edward, if he can't keep up - drop him too.

gosugamers.net/counterstrike/rankings eslgaming.com/worldranking/cs hltv.org/ranking/teams/2018/december/3go.. three sites have similar rankings, even if navi isn't top2 they're definitely not "nowhere near top2". i wish they'd drop zeus again just to prove you wrong. you probably think ANGE1 could do better.. btw: hltv has an algorithm they use to calculate 4 different factors, whether u are delusional enough to believe they are opinionated is up to you. I'm sure ESL uses their own algorithm based on stats as well.
2018-12-06 01:43
None of them has shown or explained their way of determining it for me to tell you why exactly is that wrong. They don't include much necessary things into account but they do care of the much lesser important stuff, I'm assured. Don't stop believin', I got my own pair of eyes and I can see for miles. They're a bad team, top 6 in my world.
2018-12-06 02:24
Achievements criteria are unclear and could be done in anyway. It's not a complete ranking, it doesn't contain a human factor and roles fulfillment, for example, team structure, Na'Vi for a talk, is a bad team, they heavily rely on 2 carry players while Astralis doesn't have weak sides, mouz and ENCE have a much superior team basement as well. Also, 3 past months should have no relevance in the present time ranking. This has a lot of flaws, I knew I had to listen to myself and you should.
2018-12-06 04:26
I do agree with you.Navi needs a igl who could frag as well. They lack that firepower which could be clearly seen in Navi's performance this year.Even in the events they won it's because someone of them showed up simple or Electronic in most of the cases.I do agree that Zeus is a good igl. Some of of his calls are insane like stacking one site , faking one site. But I don't see Edward's role in the team.He should definitely step down and give some young players chance.. Definitely there would be good young players in CIS who could replace him and improves the fraggin department

Mouz getting back to the good results with STYKO. Snax signing was a big mistake. Now ez for mibr.

Snax signing had a silver lining tho, they did win ESL One New York on the back of 3 insane bo3 comebacks vs Gambit fnatic and Liquid

g2 <3 great run so far, and if they beat renegades, they will be in quarters
2018-12-05 21:13
Going into this tourney I really thought G2 would go out swinging and maybe get to the playoffs. I can definitely see that if Shox is playing like he is....!

Whoa. G2 beat hellraisers and they're now gone. After the beat down they gave renegades, I thought they'd do much better. G2 are improving as this tournament continues. Mouz are looking really good too. This tournament has been full of surprises.
