MIBR to semi-finals over mouz, Na`Vi outlast Ghost

December 6th, 2018 21:05

MIBR have clinched a semi-finals spot after topping Group B over mousesports (Train 16-14, Inferno 16-6), while Natus Vincere survived a dangerous match against Ghost (2-1; Inferno 11-16, Train 19-16, Mirage 16-6) to eliminate the North American team and secure a place in the quarter-finals.

The upper bracket final of Group B began on Train, where MIBR grabbed a hold of the match from the get-go, mounting a 7-2 lead as CT. With Chris "chrisJ" de Jong and Martin "STYKO" Styk giving their team a round each, mousesports closed the gap to three, but the Brazilian-American team ran away with the rest of the half for 11-4.

When they added the second pistol round on top of it, everything looked decided, but mousesports refused to give up, attempting a massive comeback by winning 10 out of the next 11 rounds to go even at 14-14. However, it was all for naught after all, as two executes from MIBR later, Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's team clinched map one at 16-14.

FalleN & co. are through to the semi-finals

The story wasn't much different on Inferno, where MIBR once again mounted a huge CT side despite losing the initial pistol, as they responded right back and didn't let mousesports string rounds together to go up 12-3. This time, they didn't have too much trouble closing things out after losing the second pistol round, going on a four-round streak in the gunrounds, with Tarik "tarik" Celik closing things out with a 1v3 clutch at 16-6, 2-0.

Group B's lower bracket final started off with Ghost surprising Na`Vi early on on Inferno, as after losing the pistol round they went on a six-round streak after Jason "neptune" Tran grabbed a quad-kill in the first gunround while Kenneth "koosta" Suen and Yassine "Subroza" Taoufik clutched a couple of key rounds.

After Ghost extended their lead to 9-3 once they broke their opponents in the 10th round, Na`Vi had to fight back with three in a row at the end, including one in which Denis "electronic" Sharipov clutched a 1v2.

Subroza added another clutch to his name in the second pistol round, but Na`Vi responded with a forcebuy victory to start clawing their way back into the match, closing the gap to 10-11. With just two saved guns, Ghost came out on top of an eco round and shortly after broke Natus Vincere after trading rounds. That made Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko's team force three times in a row and the North American side came out victorious at 16-11.

Na`Vi survive a scare from Ghost to make it to playoffs

Train was closely contested from the start, as the two sides traded four-round streaks early on before Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev put up a quad-kill and Ioann "Edward" Sukhariev a triple for a 6-4 lead in favor of Na`Vi. Joshua "steel" Nissan's team needed to win just one round to send their opponents on a force, which helped them secure an 8-7 half.

On the CT side, the favorites looked dominant aside from a couple of losses to low buys, which allowed them to get match point at 15-11 while s1mple continued to dominate, passing the 30-kill mark at that point. steel stepped up to the plate with a few key multi-kills in return to force overtime, but there, Na`Vi utilized their experience and won a few close scenarios to force the deciding map at 19-16.

Mirage was set to end the series, with Ghost taking the early control with a 4-0 lead. Na`Vi responded with two in a row on the back of a quad-kill from Edward, while the North American team won a forcebuy round, but they couldn't keep the Ukraine-based team at bay after electronic grabbed a quad-kill of his own.

From there on, the half was firmly in Natus Vincere's hands, as they went on a seven-round streak for a 9-6 halftime score. The favored squad took no time to finish off their opponents, going 7-0 on the Terrorist side to advance to the semi-finals at 16-6, 2-1.

Mouz cant even win their map pick even if mibr is trying hard to throw it lmao NaVi another win for the greatest stat padder ever (at least this time he wasn’t out in groups again LUL), but still no trophy. Only frags against garbage teams on group stages (Sharks/Ghost). Liquid will have the easiest route to the semis out of any team in this tournament, playing Navi for a spot in the semis should be bannable tbh

In the competition for the direct spot in the semi-finals of the ESL Pro League S8 Finals between MIBR and mousesports, better for the Brazilians, who won the decisive MD3 series of Group B of the tournament for two maps to zero and secured the first place in the group. With the victory, the Brazilians return to play only on Saturday (8), at 16:50 (Brasília time), with the opponent to be defined, already by the semifinals of the competition. Meanwhile, the mouz Europeans, who finished second in the group, return to play on Friday (7), against Renegades at 12:30 in a game valid for the quarterfinals of the competition. MIBR 2 vs. 0 mousesports MIBR 16 vs. 14 mousesports - Train Starting from the CT side, MIBR managed to secure the pistol. Without difficulties, the Brazilians also guaranteed the anti-eco. In the first set of the match, better for the mouz, which reversed the advantage of Brazilian 5v3. Soon after, the MIBR reset their opponents, even with a deficit buyout, but enough for Brazilians to score three to one on the scoreboard. Then there was a round-up between the teams, culminating in the MIBR, reaching their fourth point. The MIBR showed a lot of defensive solidity, punishing the advancing opponents and adopting an aggressive stance when needed, which made the team soon reach the seven to two on the scoreboard. The sequence of Brazilian rounds was only interrupted when the mouz managed to do better in a breakthrough for B, taking another point. Even so, the MIBR returned to score, confirming the victory in the first half. Without major difficulties, the Brazilians closed the half in 11 to 4. In the second half pistol, the MIBR bet on a breakthrough for bombsite A, taking the round. Without major problems, Brazilians also guaranteed the anti-eco. In the first armada, better for Europeans, who managed to ensure the resumption of bombsite A and, consequently, the point. After an exchange of rounds, even forced, the Europeans managed to hold on to MIBR's momentum thanks to three fine offenses from Miikka "suNny" Kemppi, scoring their seventh point on the scoreboard. With the Brazilian economy fragile and showing excellent teamwork to prevent Brazilian entries, mouz managed to grow in the match and reach the draw in fourteen to fourteen. In an opening in the final seconds of the round, the MIBR managed to get back to the front in the match, reaching fifteen to fourteen. Betting on an entry in bombsite B, the MIBR closed the map at 16 to 14, despite all the choke.

MIBR 16 vs. 6 mousesports - Inferno Starting from the terrorist side, the mouz bet on a breakthrough for bombsite B, preventing the Brazilian redomino and taking the pistol. Not forced, the Brazilians managed to prevent the European advance, tying the match. Without great difficulties, the Brazilians managed to take the anti-forced and the anti-eco. Even armed, the mouz failed to break the MIBR defense. With the adversary economy weakened, the Brazilians soon reached five to one. The mousesports only returned to score thanks to suNny, who, alone, stumbled and took three opponents, securing the second European point. MIBR was not intimidated, winning the next round and resetting mouz's economy. Taking advantage of the war advantage, the MIBR soon secured the victory in the first half. Posing very well in the defense, the Brazilians closed the half in 12 to 3. In the second half pistol, the Europeans got the better. Without difficulties, the mouz took the anti-forced and the anti-echo. In the armored, the MIBR managed to break the sequence of rounds adversary and arrive at the thirteenth point. With the economy of the mouz weakened, the Brazilians soon arrived at fifteen to six. Without major problems, MIBR managed to close the map in 16 to 6, with a beautiful clik 1v3 of Tarik "tarik" Celik, guaranteeing the direct place in the semifinals.

S1mple make insane ratings and individually is far better, but Device is the most reliable player in the world right now, that's why he gonna be #1 this year Btw Device have a great team with the sickest strats in the game, while NaVi is just S1mple, Electronic and 3 potatos.
