device claims EPL Season 8 Finals MVP award
Nicolai "device" Reedtz is the winner of the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award of the ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals by HLTV.org and betway.
The 23-year-old claimed the honour after averaging a team-leading 1.26 rating in Astralis' title-winning campaign in Odense, the fourth-highest overall.
Keith "NAF" Markovic, who boasted a 1.31 tournament rating, was leading the race for the MVP award after the first two maps of the final, but slided out of contention towards the end of the series as device picked up the pace on Inferno and Dust2.
The Danish AWPer was Astralis' top player in the group matches against ViCi and HellRaisers, reaching peak performance levels once again in the semi-finals as he powered his team to a 2-0 victory over mousesports with a 1.75 rating.
device, who was in the top five in eight stats leaderboards, leading the charts for total opening kills (49), has now claimed his 12th MVP medal, the seventh of 2018. His previous accolades this year came at the ECS Season 5 Finals, ELEAGUE Premier, the FACEIT Major, BLAST Pro Series Istanbul, IEM Chicago, and the ECS Season 6 Finals.
