Quartet through to Americas Minor
A total of 16 teams were battling in the Americas Minor NA Closed Qualifier, where the first four teams qualified via the upper bracket, with the remaining two slots going to those who survive in the lower bracket.
Luminosity, who received a direct invite to the tournament, entered with Ricardo "boltz" Prass replacing Gustavo "yel" Knittel as well as Rafael "zakk" Fernandes stepping into the lineup for Henrique "HEN1" Teles, who was not added to the roster prior to the opening match by mistake. Things did not pan out for Lucas "steel" Lopes's team, who fell flat to FURIA on two maps to fall to the lower bracket.
NRG were the first North American squad to punch their ticket to the Minor, taking down iNTACT & Singularity without dropping a map. Right behind them were FURIA, who defeated Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir's Swole Patrol in the second round to reach the Minor in Poland.
eUnited and Sean "seang@res" Gares' Old Guys Club clashed in a three-map thriller, resulting in Pujan "FNS" Mehta & co. advancing. In the second round, they met Ghost, with the series coming down to the decider, Inferno, as Michael "dapr" Gulino led the way with a 1.75 rating in the 16-5 map victory to clinch the series.
The last team to make their way to Poland were Envy, who began their journey against Mythic in a close three-map series. Josh "jdm64" Marzano and his men then took on Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen's Rogue, which saw a tightly contested series come down to the wire, with Stephen "reltuC" Cutler paving the way with a 1.16 rating in the series to help his team reach the Minor.
The first four teams from the North America closed qualifier will join INTZ and Imperial at the Americas Minor in Poland, as two more slots remain up for grabs, which will be determined on Thursday-Friday.
