Virtus.pro management has announced the team will not play under the organization's banner until further notice.
After a tumultuous year that saw the break-up of the original Virtus.pro lineup consisting of Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas, Filip "NEO" Kubski, Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski, Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski and Paweł "byali" Bieliński—the longest standing lineup in CS:GO at the time—, the organization has now stated that the current team, which features Michał "snatchie" Rudzki, Michał "MICHU" Müller, and Piotr "morelz" Taterka as well as NEO and pashaBiceps will not play under the VP banner until further notice.
The news comes after Virtus.pro's latest blunder, losing to x-kom and bombing out of the Europe Minor qualifier for the IEM Katowice 2019 Major, and after the team failed to qualify for the next ESL Pro League season.
Virtus.pro's General Manager, Roman Dvoryankin, made the following statement regarding the decision to cease competition with this roster and the organization's focus on creating a team around young players:
“After London Major we were quite optimistic about the potential of the current lineup. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. The long-term strategy for us is to build a competitive team around young players and we will follow it while making decisions. I’d like to ask our fans to be supportive in the next couple of weeks”.
