Four SEA teams through to WESG World Finals

Alpha Red, TNC, FrostFire, and Revolution were top four at the WESG SEA Finals, earning spots at the World Finals set to take place in China next year.

Kuala Lumpur played host to the 10-team WESG 2018 SEA Finals, where a best-of-one group stage was played to get the top four teams that would be moving on to the WESG 2018 World Finals, which will be played in Chongqing in March.

The four teams that came out on top and booked a spot in the World Finals were Alpha Red from Thailand, TNC from The Philippines, FrostFire from Malaysia, and Revolution from Vietnam.

Alpha Red went undefeated in Malaysia

Those same four teams then went on to play a best-of-three single elimination playoff. The first round saw Alpha Red beat Revolution, while TNC took down the Malaysian side, FrostFire. It was finally Alpha Red who took the $7,500 grand prize after beating the Philipino team in a three map final.

The final standings at the WESG 2018 SEA Finals are:

1. Thailand Alpha Red - $7,500 + WESG World Finals
2. Philippines TNC - $4,500 + WESG World Finals
3-4. Malaysia FrostFire - $2,500 + WESG World Finals
3-4. Vietnam Revolution - $2,500 + WESG World Finals
5-6.Brunei ExidiuM
5-6. Singapore Vindicta
7. Indonesia BOOM
8-9. Laos VTE
8-9. Myanmar Nemesis
10. Cambodia The Foxes

Nice for them, but 99% of them have no chance against tier 1-2 teams on WESG
2018-12-16 20:58
are there any t1-t2 teams there with the nationality issue tho?

Yeah, I guess MIBR and SS are strong opponents. Also team Russia has electronic, flamie and so on, so they're pretty strong too.
2018-12-16 21:01
mibr arent there as far as i am aware. space soldiers lost to windigo and then lost to other turkish teams at the qualifier as well. windigo is pretty decent. and the mix cis teams are stlll mixes.
2018-12-16 21:07
There is no way to know if mibr will be there tbh cuz all of the 4 invites are yet to be announced. We could ez see teams like nip, fnatic, mibr, astralis in event if they want to attend xd, only issue is some teams have kinda busy schedule around this event with major, blast and starseries all being played quite close proximity so ofc there is possibility some teams decide to focus other events over this even despite solid prize money
2018-12-16 21:52
true. but mibr needs to become mibr first.they cant play with 3 br 2 na :D
