Infinite to trial for Cloud9 in place of Golden - Report
Infinite, the former AZIO and Spacestation player, is set to have a try-out period with the North American organization, Cloud9, to take over Golden's spot. The Swede has been sidelined for months due to health issues which saw him miss part of BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen and the ECS Season 6 Finals and BLAST Pro Series Lisbon in their entirety.
The move is expected to come ahead of the IEM Katowice 2019 roster lock, which is set to kick in on New Year's day. Cloud9 are slotted to be in attendance at the Major's New Challengers stage, although it is as of now unknown if they will lose their status due to the team not retaining their core from the FACEIT Major in London.
Were the trial to move forward, a new rule with emergency trades was put in place for situations like this ahead of IEM Katowice, but it is as of yet unknown if this transfer would qualify and what the repercussions would be.
The 20-year-old, who first emerged competitively in 2017 with time spent in CLG Academy, will then have three months to show he has what it takes to make the cut and stay on the team. Not being an in-game leader, it is expected one of the other four members in the roster will take over the role from Golden.
