Asia & Americas Minors viewer's guide

We have put together a viewer's guide with all the information you need regarding both the Asian and the American Minors, which are set to start on Tuesday.

After the CIS and the European Minor, Katowice is ready to host, from January 22-26, the final Minors leading to the Major.

Each event will see eight teams duking it out for two spots at the IEM Katowice Major and their share of a $50,000 prize pool. Contrary to previous editions, third-placed teams will also have a chance to compete at the Major as they will advance to the play-in tournament, where Winstrike and North await for their opponents.

Katowice will host a Major for the third time

Both Minors will kick off with a GSL group stage, where only the openers are set to be played as best-of-one matches. The top two teams from both groups will then secure a spot in the double-elimination, best-of-three playoffs.

Would be hugely disappointing for Renegades not to win this. And personally I'd love to see MVP go through as it's nice to see old school players still competing.

Na teams are so incompetent that br teams have to fulfill the minor so it can be relevant
2019-01-21 13:12
It's not relevant anyway, EU should have 4 spots, CIS 2 and Americas and Asia 1 each.

I guess North has a pretty good chance to beat any of these teams, and -2 of the best teams in each region, not sure if any 3rd place team can really beat them in the last chance qualifier. I guess maybe if one of the better teams accidentally comes 3rd?
