Denial sign Bravado quartet, coach

Four of the former Bravado players and the team's coach have joined Denial, while Dimitri "Detrony" Hadjipaschali decided to stay with the South African organization.

The news comes a couple of days after Bravado put up a Tweet asking people to stop donating to their crowdfunding campaign. Joining Denial will be Bravado's former coach Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen and all of the players except Detrony—whose brother Andreas "cent" Hadjipaschali is the CEO of the South African organization.

ELUSIVE and co. will now be representing Denial

According to Bravado's statement—titled "Project Destiny comes to an end"—, the crowdfunding campaign was on course to reach the target, but the players still decided to join another organization:

"It is important to mention, all players were notified that the campaign was on course to reach its target (at the time sitting at 60% of the fixed goal) as there was a corporate sponsor who was willing to pay in the case of any shortfall (40% of the fixed goal) for the organization in order to ensure the campaign was a success.

"Therefore, we want to make it clear that this decision was purely on the players to cancel the campaign and accept the offer they received from their new organization. We want you to know that this is no reflection on the ethics of the Bravado brand and its management. We want to ensure that everybody who contributed to the campaign will be refunded."

"On this note, the management would like to apologize on behalf of Bravado to all its fans, supporters and ESPECIALLY all the donors during it’s Indiegogo fund-raising campaign – management realizes how this can reflect badly on the organization, especially after the concerted effort of many high-profile players in the community coming together to assist us in reaching this goal."

In the past, Denial had allegedly been in payment troubles, with actions being taken against the CEO at the time as well.

However, after almost a year without a CS team, the organization resurfaced under new ownership at the end of 2018 with their first goal being to pay back the players what they owe. The South African squad will be Denial's first CS:GO team since the change of ownership.

Denial currently has four players and a coach:

South Africa Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek
South Africa Rhys "Fadey" Armstrong
South Africa Ruan "ELUSIVE" van Wyk
South Africa Johnny "JT" Theodosiou

South Africa Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen (coach)

I am not so sure about that. In Finland, we take eSports more seriously as a career. Ence esports takes good care of its players salary (In the documentary about ence Sergej said that he earns more than his mom and later revealed that it is above 40 000€ + its the best team in our country ++many of the players in this team can't go international due to their English. have you heard how much for example aerial has to put brainpower to come up with words. Also players in Ence are not very interested about money its about loyalty to a surtant extent PS. here is the doc with eng. subs areena.yle.fi/1-4315124

Even then after everything everyone has done for them. Yhe donations yhe streams. yhe support, they say fuck it once the bill can be paid and jump ship. No wonder they didnt qualify for the major. I would have ATLEAST put in a fre more months of work with bravado over this. Not use their campaign to get enough clout to leave. And shit even if i did that i would only leave if the campaign failed. Smh i feel especially sorry for fallen. He has to refund thousands of dollars to individual people

He won't do that because he did stream yesterday in order to grab resourcers for the Brumadinho disaster that just happened in Brazil. I'm quite sure that at some point he's gonna tell people that he will donate the Bravado's ammount to the Brumadinho cause and no one will complain about it.

No, the money from Bravado's donations will return directly to the accounts of the ones who donated, FalleN said that in a tweet response. The Project Destiny donations never went to fallen, he linked those directly to their account.
2019-01-29 01:43
Fallen set the stream donation button so that the donations would go directly to Bravado's account. So if Bravado is to give back the money, it would go straight back to who donated, not gonna go though Fallen.

you know nothing man LOL the 3 months was the short fall they could not cover so they could not cover 3 months of the year not only fund 3 month in the year. "Management" i.e Cent gave them everything he could. educate yourself before talking man I know a lot of these guys personally and have told some of them they are chops for doing this but hay they made there bed.

You're wrong about that. After x amount of time they would have been out of money. They simply would have had to crowdfund again. No, they picked security over a sense of loyalty. This is a gaming organisation and a business. They don't want to sit there having to play with the stress of being in debt, struggling to fund the house they're living in. Struggling with a food allowance of R625 a week etc. Yes, Andreas gave them everything he could, which is not enough. You know a lot of them personally? So go ask them (Aran, Ruan, Rhys, Tiaan and Johnny) whether BvD fully covered their costs and expenses. Go ask them whether Andreas took all the opportunities presented to him in securing actual sponsors, not handouts! Although someone stupid enough to type "..but hay they made there bed."- is probably lying in the first place. Saying they should choose a sense of friendship over their future just shows how stupid you guys are...
2019-01-30 11:35

Do you know them personally ? I do I know everything you are simply wrong please dont argue for the sake of arguing . The fact is why they asked for help just like MIBR did back in the day why because nothing is for nothing and BVD didnt want to sell out and become some Org that is dictated to by there sponsors. But the boys will find this out now the hard way with lots of sell out deals and stuff they didnt have to do under BVD fact is they wanted it to be real its about to get very real and they dont realize that BVD was just trying to get them to the top without selling out but hay thats what you get for doing whats best for people and having the boys best interests in mind

Rofl you don't know what you're talking about. Andreas didn't avoid "selling out", he couldn't line up sponsors because he's ineffective. Go ask Andreas what his opening line was when emailing or contacting sponsors. You don't know everything, I do know them personally. Go ask them whether they had to pay for their Sweden flights and Swedish accommodation. Ask them whether R625 a week for food is enough in USA. Ask them whether the pcs supplied to them was up to scratch and whether they had to buy upgrades themselves. Bro I skype called with these gents for hours. Spoke on the phone to them for hours. When they came down in October we sat down and spoke for hours. These are facts that Andreas and people like you won't admit since it would sully the BVD name. I notice you claim to know the 5 that left, but you're still a supporter of BVD, which means you're probably a fan of Andreas and don't know them personally at all. Dumb fucks like you that say stuff like "selling out" makes me sick. They made a decision for their future. The only person who should feel bad is Detrony for fucking himself over, possibly ruining the future of 5 teammates and letting his family/organisation down for not taking SA to greater heights.

As stated in the press release from Bravado, I can personally confirm that the fixed crowd funding was confirmed and 100% to go as one of their sponsors would have paid the deficit and this was known to all players. The unfortunate part of it was that the crowd-funding (after many peoples efforts and help) had to be cancelled during the campaign as the players accepted the offer from Denial E-Sports.

They didn't leave one behind, Detrony himself left the team move onwards because his brother owns Bravado Gaming. Nothing but respect for him for sticking with his brother, but at the same time you can't blame the quartet for pursuing their dreams. Also, Bravado org wanted this lineup to be successful and I'm pretty sure that even under other organizations they'll be cheering for them to put RSA in the map.

I don't know... Denial has been a problematic org in the past but at the same time this Bravado project was a short term project. Pretty sure that a while from now, probably within the next year they'd have to go through the same funding problem to keep them in the US and it's normal that the team wants stability so they can fully focus on their development. This is a nerve wracking situation to be on as a player I imagine. I feel sad that Bravado and Detrony are now in a bad spot but as part South African I'm really happy that the team managed to somehow keep competing in the US region and hopefully they reach their goals. EDIT: Their offer was probably too good for the standards of Bravado.

You don't know what's going on. Bvd players were often forced to pay for their own flights and accommodation. They've been living off rice and beans the past months because BvD isn't paying for food even. In the year it took the players to reach world #21, Detrony's brother has done nothing to get proper sponsors. BvD is an AWFUL organization, this is long overdue.

I get so tired of these okes that live in SA, have never spoken to a single BVD member in their life, but somehow think they're privy to the inner workings of the organisation, because they support the team and the players look happy when they show face. If BVD was so financially sound, why did they have to resort to crowd-funding to maintain what they're doing, not to expand it. It means they don't have the money to keep doing it. Which means players had to dig into their own pockets to cover tons of things. Ticket to Sweden was partially paid for and accommodation wasn't paid for at all. They receive R45k a month for food between 6 people. That's R625 per person per week for food. That's not enough to survive in South Africa, let alone USA. The first 2 months everything went great, pretty soon it changed into players having to self-fund and the organisation flat out refusing to pay. They'll often receive information telling them "we're only willing to pay X for this flight" and then have to magically find money elsewhere. That and despite that the players don't receive a salary in BVD, the organisation takes a player's cut of the winnings.

I'm also a massive Bravado fan, but hoping for the best. Denial is an American organization so maybe it can bring some good opportunities to the boys. I'm on the train all the way.

Shame to see the players turn their backs on what appears to be a great org. Lost alot of respect from everyone for that.

> Great org > Unable to secure funding > Asking for donations in return for nothing > Calling out players because it might reflect badly on organisation even though they put themselves in that situation > Nepotism is great! Pick 1

in this case pick 1 doesn't make sense because i can just pick the great org option. imgur.com/a/1KPx4Bu

Yes you can sadly it won't be bravado xaxaxa
2019-01-29 03:48
You kinda miss the point, let me elaborate: > yep > yep > ...and succeeding in that, not only making money, but also earning fans for they're also the first org to perform such kind of a publicity stunt > their wording is very soft and I would say professional, they don't even call names, consider yourself in a situation with such an unexpected move and having to deal with the crowdfunded money and your brand reputation > not sure what you mean by that, but any proof that detrony's relation to the owner was anyhow harmful to the team or that it was org who encouraged detrony to stay (which is not so)? Overall, love it how they call the org "a family" but still leave it without any apparent reason just in time the org got sufficient funding ALONGSIDE fans for them

The problem with detrony is he already picked his brother (bravado) over his team. Wouldn't be surprised if he had influence over them to remain in bravado in the first place and do this crowdfunding as opposed to leaving to join a more stable organisation. Also what happens after they run out of money? Do they ask again? Also this "family" attitude is exactly why it's wrong. Players are put in these awkward positions where they have to sacrifice themselves for organisations because "family". Just like VP "family" kicked taz when things got sour. It's business nothing more and this toxic attitude happens in soccer too when good players waste their careers because they get convinced it's family. Also crowdfunding isn't entirely new thing. People crowdfunded fallens old team for them to attend an event (flusha helped).

Yes and no... they had to, being part of a NA org helps their visa situation. Also for South African sponsors/orgs its way too expensive to survive there thanks to how weak the South African Rand is compaired to the Dollar.

They got visibility with the donations a they could survive another season and try to get sponsors from NA. Maybe the Visa situation is true, but they are leaving a solid organization to enter a new winterfox. Sooner or later they won't get paid or will be kicked.

lol bravado management acting like everything was fine. they had to extend the fundraising to even get to 60%. and "the sponsor" who would've paid the remaining 40% would've probably just been FalleN. So then they would have had secured salary for the next 3 months in NA, and then probably the same problems again. I totally understand that the players chose a seemingly saver option.

For anyone wondering why Detrony didn't join, it is because he is an owner, or a co-owner of the bravado Gaming brand, so he basically owns the team (at least some % of it)
