North win GG.BET ICE Challenge

North have won GG.BET ICE Challenge after defeating Natus Vincere 2-0 in the grand final (16-14 on Dust2 and 16-12 on Nuke).

The grand final of the $50,000 event kicked off on Dust2, where North started on the CT-side and won the pistol round as Philip "aizy" Aistrup picked up a triple kill. Nicklas "gade" Gade's triple kill in the following round made it 2-0 but Denis "electronic" Sharipov clutched an amazing 1vs2 in the third round to stop North's streak.

electronic then found two opening kills, tying the game at 2-2. The Russian player couldn't be stopped as he put his team in the lead by winning the fifth round with another 1vs2 clutch while also getting a quad kill. North got close to reclaiming the lead but Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev and electronic grabbed a 2vs5 victory during an eco round to deny the Danes. (4-3).

cadiaN has won his first LAN trophy with North

Natus Vincere secured five more rounds on the T-side, the last of which came thanks to an amazing 1vs2 clutch and a quad kill by s1mple who made it 9-6 in favor of the Ukrainian team. North won the first six rounds in the second half to respond, leading 12-9.

s1mple gave Natus Vincere their first CT-side round with a solid AWP quad kill (12-10). The CIS side managed to tie the game at 12-12 but North went on a three round streak to earn three map points. Natus Vincere denied the map point with limited weaponry in the 28th round but North closed it out in the 30th round as aizy and Casper "cadiaN" Møller both got double kills.

Natus Vincere started Nuke by winning five of the first six rounds on the T-side (5-1). Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså and cadiaN's triple kills in consecutive rounds cut the gap to two rounds and a 3vs5 victory in the tenth round tied the game at 5-5.

Natus Vincere has suffered a defeat prior to the IEM Katowice Major

When North were up by three rounds in the latter stages of the first half, Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko got two crucial kills in a 2vs3 situation to give Natus Vincere their sixth (8-6). electronic drew first blood in the following round but valde closed out the half with a triple kill as North led 9-6.

The Danes reached double digits after aizy clutched a 1vs2 on the A-site to win the second pistol and cadiaN made it 11-6 with a triple kill in the following round. Natus Vincere went on a six round streak to come back from 12-6 but couldn’t take the lead as Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye got a double kill in a 2vs2.

Kjaerbye got another double kill in the following round, helping North plant the bomb on the A-site and extend their lead to 14-12. North picked up the following two rounds to finish off the map with a 16-12 scoreline, winning the series 2-0 and becoming champions at the GG.BET ICE Challenge.

jame Is definitely the next big move. Unless they want Angel as well and just move Jame to a pure fragging position, there’s really not many solid moves NaVi could make. I’m pretty sure styko doesn’t speak Russian but if he knows a bit then maybe he could join. If NaVi want to get risky they might go get a Vega or Spirit player as well. Wouldn’t be surprised if NaVi ends up being a 3 or 4 Russian player team

Stop crying guys, it was just some not serious warmup tournament for Navi, they tested few strats and revealed weak places in their play, it was main goal for them. I'm sure that we'll see another Navi in Katowice.

Their shit eating expressions during the match tells me this is not so

Possible
2019-02-07 22:18
AdreN to Na'Vi!! Zeus to coach or bench. Flamie has a higher skill peak then Edward but Edward is way more consistent. considering the team already has two stars I think they should keep edward and kick Flamie as well for a 3rd star that is way more consistent. Woxic ? Na'Vi 2019 AdreN Simple Frozen Electronic Edward Or get the young Talent,, Slovakia Frozen!! At any rate it will be hard for them to find russian speaking talent. They are almost certain to change communication to a language everybody on the team can speak. Not sure if thats a wise decision but it could come as a side effect.

right, it rather should be like 0,1 or 0.2

like really, these are appalling stats, yet they still get such a generous rating so it doesn't look so bad in the hltv profile.

It's time for Na'vi to change their lineup. Edward and Zeus are super bad nowadays and it feels like flamie gets worse with them or something. He was so good during parts of 2018 and now he has lost that.

North stand up from wheelchair again. Also Zeus is so bad, He gonna ruin navi in next major before retired.
2019-02-08 13:04
Zeus cant frag, and cant lead. Whats the point of him now?
2019-02-08 15:11
flamie so bad latly , he is now on edward's level if not worse...zeus is just literally a bot , i can't understand how can he make 16 frags in almost 60 rounds....is so bad , i bet you can add any global elite matchmaking player and make more than 20 frags in 2 maps even igl-ing
2019-02-08 16:12
Is it just me or is s1mple never at his peak in finals? Pretty much every time it's electronic topfragging in grand finals, while s1mple topfrags pretty much in every other match? hltv.org/matches/2328314/nip-vs-natus-vi.. hltv.org/matches/2326427/natus-vincere-v.. hltv.org/matches/2324406/natus-vincere-v..
