StarLadder to host CS:GO Major in Berlin - Report
StarLadder will host the second Counter-Strike Major of 2019 in the German city of Berlin, according to a report from Dexerto.com.
The report comes just hours after StarLadder esports manager Alex "Alex007" Trushliako wrote on Twitter that the company was "about to host the next CS:GO Major" as he included his employer in the "tier 1 of tournament operation market".
In a quick follow-up tweet, however, the Ukrainian noted that he was merely referring to the upcoming StarSeries i-League event, which will be held in China, and blamed his lack of knowledge of the Counter-Strike scene for the misunderstanding.
HLTV.org knows that StarLadder is planning to open a studio in Berlin, an esports hub in Europe and home of the League of Legends European Championship (LEC), to stage the PUBG Europe League (PEL), featuring 16 teams.
If confirmed, this will represent StarLadder's first CS:GO Major and the fourth event of this stature to be held in Germany, after the 2014, 2015 and 2016 ESL One Cologne tournaments.
