Astralis invited to ESL One Cologne 2019
Astralis have received and confirmed a direct invite to participate at the LAN finals of ESL One Cologne 2019.
The Danes will be joining fifteen other rosters at the LANXESS Arena on July 5-7 in a fight for a share of the $300,000 prize pool, as well as a point towards the Intel Grand Slam Season 2 for the subsequent victor.
In last year's edition of the event, the Danish side was unable to secure a victory at the event, falling to CIS' finest, Natus Vincere in the semi-final. After besting their arch rivals, the Ukrainian-majority squad went on to defeat home crowd favourites, BIG in the grand final, securing their third gold medal of the year.
Currently rated #1 in the world, the Danes were the first team in the history of CS:GO to secure the Intel Grand Slam pot, after a victory at the ESL Pro League Season 8 finals yielded the their fourth eligible tournament victory, in addition to a whopping $1,000,000 in prize money.
