G2 knock TYLOO out; to New Legends Stage

G2 bested TYLOO after three maps, losing 12-16 on Mirage, but turning it around on Dust2, 16-2, and Cache,16-7 to make it to the New Legends Stage.

G2 and TYLOO’s last match of the New Challengers Stage started off on Mirage, as the Chinese team were able to win their map pick’s pistol round after attacking the A site and taking out all of the CTs in the post-plant situation. The gun rounds changed the game, though, as G2 were able to win the first and then chain several more with Richard "shox" Papillon and Kenny "kennyS" Schrub spearheading the defense with several solid rounds.

Down 2-7, TYLOO were finally able to take a round after planting on A in a 4vs4. Lucas "Lucky" Chastang got two frags to make it a 4vs2, but a triple by Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand held the CTs off just long enough for the bomb to go off. Two huge entries on an A hit by YuanZhang "Attacker" Sheng then smoothed the way for TYLOO to avoid the hard reset, making it 4-7. After winning one round and resetting TYLOO, G2 lost to a full eco thanks to a big 1vs2 play by BnTeT to save the afterplant on A. The French side were able to bounce back, however, winning a forcebuy on mid to go on to close the half 10-5.

The second half kicked off with a fast B play by G2, who were unable to win the round as TYLOO brought in quick rotations to nullify the attack. The first gun round went to the Chinese side, as YuLun "Summer" Cai was able to win a 1vs1 against Audric "JaCkz" Jug. With 11-10 on the board, G2 were able to keep their lead on a forcebuy thanks to an opening AWP kill by kennyS and a double with the p250 by Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro. TYLOO then returned the favor, winning a round in the last second thanks to a frag on the bomb carrier which made the time elapse without a plant. After that, TYLOO took the reins, going on to close the map out 16-12.

G2 dominated on the last two maps of the series

The first round on Dust2 went to G2, their first pistol round win of the match, after a fast A play. TYLOO evened it up in the forcebuy, as Attacker did massive damage on mid and Summer finished off the last few players trying to go from Mid to B with the Scout. G2 were able to straighten out the ship, and they won the following rounds to keep the lead early in the half. They gave up one more round, but kept plowing through the attacking side, going up 8-2 after ten rounds. Dust2 definitely proved to be their stomping ground, as the Frenchmen kept ravaging TYLOO to a 13-2 half.

The second pistol round started with TYLOO running out long and overpowering G2, taking the A site and planting in a 3vs3, but it was bodyy, kennyS, and Lucky who were able to turn the round in their favor with a frag each to defuse the bomb and all but close down the map, which ended two rounds later with the CTs not allowing TYLOO to take a single round, making the final score 16-2 ahead of the decider.

TYLOO go out with a 2-3 record after three straight losses

G2 kept their momentum going and got off to a flying start on Cache, winning the pistol round, anti-eco, and first gun round on the defense. It wasn’t until an opening frag by Kevin "xccurate" Susanto with a saved AWP and several pistol frags by TYLOO’s players that the Asians were able to get on the board, making it 1-5 after a play on the A site. G2 didn’t let up, however, resetting the terrorists. The teams traded rounds, but the French side once again came out on top, keeping it one sided with an 8-2 start. They kept the pace up, going on to obliterate TYLOO all of the way to the half, 13-2.

TYLOO evened out the pistol rounds, making it 3-3 in the series, giving themselves a lifeline to try and come back in the second half. BnTeT and xccurate then won a 2vs2 in the first gun round against shox and kennyS to make it 5-13, but TYLOO were then overtaken by a B rush from G2, bringing the match ever closer to its end. After a successful mid take, G2 tried to hit B again, but they were unable to win as a double by BnTeT denied the French team a plant. G2 then got on match point, 15-7, after a forcebuy towards B worked out, which they were able to follow up to qualify to the New Legends Stage.

why ban overpass why ?????????
2019-02-17 19:32
Because G2 ran over fnatic on ovp yesterday. They need a better map pool for BO3s. D2 was a given, and if they had banned D2 then Nuke would've been a given map to G2.
2019-02-17 19:55
so scared of g2 overpass performance against fnatic, and ban one of your best map... and then lose like this. a sign of weak mentality, they are doomed to lose before they enter the server.
