Renegades outlast FaZe; Astralis crush Cloud9 in Katowice

Renegades beat FaZe in a last round nailbiter on Inferno to move on to the 2-0 pool, while Astralis wrecked Cloud9 16-0 on Train.

The first round went the way of FaZe, on the CT side of Inferno, but Renegades were fast to get back in the match, winning the forcebuy with a fast play on B. Renegades then switched it up, going A and winning against pistols. FaZe then got two to bring it back to a tie as Håvard "rain" Nygaard got a triple to stop Renegades from pushing through short onto A. Teams then traded rounds to go 4-4, but it was FaZe that started to rack up rounds, as Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev got a triple on banana assisted by a flash by Nikola "NiKo" Kovač to go up 7-4.

AZR & co. go 2-0 after beating FaZe

Renegades were finally to get another one after two opening frags and an A hit to make it 5-8. An indecisive round then cost Renegades as they tried to make a B split without time and were slaughtered going back to A. Renegades were able to win the last round bringing it back to within three, 6-9.

Two early kills by Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács helped his team take the second pistol round, but they once again lost against the pistol buy. This allowed Renegades to get within one, following it up twice, 9-10. Little by little Renegades started to build up momentum, even going up 12-10 before FaZe could get a round after a 3vs3 B execute. Renegades then ran away with it as Aaron "AZR" Ward led both in-game and on the scoreboard, making it 15-11. FaZe brought it down to the wire, planting on A in the thirtieth round in a 3vs2, but Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad with a triple and bomb defuse pushed it over the line for Renegades, 16-14.

The match between Astralis and Cloud9 started on Train with a decisive A site defense by the Danes, who took the lead from the gate. Starting out on the CT side, Astralis showed why they are favorites early on, not giving Cloud9 a chance during the first gun round.

Astralis had a good time on the server against Cloud9

A massive round by William "RUSH" Wierzba was about to get Cloud9 on the board, but Emil "Magisk" Reif was able to ninja defuse in the smoke on B to keep his team on a clean slate, 6-0. Astralis then went on an absolute rampage, smashing the American-European side 15-0 round after round as Cloud9 showed a lack of ideas on the offense. The Danes then closed it out after winning the second pistol round, putting the cherry on top in a clean 16-0.

they were the better team tho. And I am rene fan, renegades had holes in their defences that ence did not, ence had better defaults, it's kinda silly to say liazz getting a knife and cz spray into smoke was due to renegades being a better team. renegades are way better than what they did against ence

ENCE has a great CT side with their utility use, but I saw inexperience fail ENCE and RNG veterans pull through. That showed against RNG vs FaZe on the last round and ENCE losing to HR makes me think otherwise if ENCE was the better team. You're only good as your last game, this is the Majors, mistakes will be exploited at this level.

Not the same but for RNG they need a bit of both to get through. You cant say they're not prepared though.
2019-02-21 03:11
Yes and I didnt say that. Ence were the better team for most of that game, they fell apart just at the end and let renegades have a relatively easy win

Other than that, I think C9 is happy they even got to legends stage but will probably get knocked out at this stage rip rip rip
