Dignitas fe beat CLG Red to win Intel Challenge Katowice

Dignitas fe have successfully defended their Intel Challenge Katowice title after defeating CLG Red 2-0 in a one-sided affair.

CLG Red's map choice, Mirage, opened the series, but it was Dignitas fe who came out the livelier of the two sides. Emmalee "EMUHLEET" Garrido's troops jumped out to a 6-1 lead on the CT side , but then their economy took a huge hit as CLG Red upped the pace, bringing the deficit to just three rounds.

The Terrorists' run was not to last, though, as Dignitas fe responded on a very weak buy and retook control of the game, racing to an 11-4 lead off the back of a great half from Catherine "cath" Leroux, who was sitting on 20 frags.

Now on the Terrorist side, Dignitas fe further added to their lead as they caught the CT players off-guard with a well-timed A split. CLG Red had no response to the pace or power of their opponents and could not muster a single round in the half.

Dignitas fe win their second Intel Challenge Katowice title

Next up was Nuke, where a strong start from CLG Red saw them take a 3-1 lead after responding to a pistol round loss. Dignitas fe then went on a nine-round winning streak with a very solid defence before Benita "bENITA" Novshadian's side responded with two in a row to keep themselves in the game.

Down 5-10, CLG Red came from the break looking a different side and lost just one of the initial six rounds of the half to cut the gap to 10-11. It looked like the series would go the full distance, but then the game entered a scrappy period and Dignitas fe took advantage of it, with a 1v3 clutch from Amanda "rain" Smith ultimately tipping the scales in her team's favour as it left the CTs with no money in the bank to fight back.
