MVP PK withdraw from WESG Finals

MVP PK have decided against attending the upcoming WESG Finals, the tournament organisers have confirmed to HLTV.org.

The South Korean side become the second team to drop out of the tournament after Isurus, leaving Group D with just three teams, Furious, FrostFire and Absolute.

Currently ranked 36th in the world, MVP PK were last seen at the Asia Minor, placing fourth after losing to Grayhound and ViCi in the double-elimination playoffs.

MVP PK will not compete at the WESG Finals

The team will make their next appearance in the Chinese closed qualifier for the ESL Pro League Season 9 Asia event, scheduled for March 16-17. Eight teams from across the continent will be taking part in this qualifier, which will have two spots at the regional LAN on the line.

The WESG 2018 World Finals will run from March 11-17 in Chongqing, China, with $890,000 at stake. The list of participants for the event now features 30 teams, including three sides currently in the top 10 in the ranking, ENCE, MIBR and NiP.

HLTV.org has contacted MVP PK for comment.

Only reason why ENCE, NiP, Fnatic, MIBR etc. are going there is easy prize money. But even then they screwed up the seeding of groups, so I'd not be surprised if some of these higher tier teams will bail out as well.

This is the first time that WESG get much teams like that , if they improve their event they can be a world cup but it seem that they don't care about this event

Why would you dropout of an international tournament with tough competition and a high prize pool when your in a region that lacks experience and opportunity? Makes me think these players aren’t invested.

coz they need to form sth like a pug team to play under the rule of wesg, resulting the non-malay-vici lost to non-mongol-5power in the qualifier, and tyloo didn't even tried to join this

They already have the best line-up, possible. There is still free players like Sound ( I think he served his time already, IIRC ), Timon (unsure he used to be back-up), kAyle and RindA. I still doubt if they have the right roles and skills to replace anyone in MVP PK. Also, I just noticed that kAyle seems to have moved on from CS:GO.
