K23 to miss WESG Finals due to visa issues

Kazakhstani mix team K23 will not compete at the upcoming WESG World Finals due to visa issues, it has been announced.

The announcement was made on social media by Sanzhar "neaLaN" Ishkakov's team, Syman, who explained that "difficulties in obtaining a visa to China and a busy schedule of team players" will see the mix roster miss the event.

However, a Kazakhstani WESG representative told HLTV.org that the reason behind K23's last-minute withdrawal was because FaZe did not wish to lose Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev for over a week for the event as they begin preparations for their next tournament, BLAST Pro Series São Paulo.

Headlined by the Major-winning trio of AdreN, Abay "Hobbit" Khasenov and Rustem "mou" Telepov, K23 had qualified for the event after winning the Central Asia qualifier over Kyrgyzstani side NorBant.

K23 join the list of absentees for the WESG Finals

The news means that Group C is now down to just two teams, MIBR and AGO, after Isurus also withdrew from the tournament, citing visa issues and the inability to field their current roster, featuring Uruguayan player Maximiliano "max" Gonzalez.

Running from March 11-17 in Chongqing, China, the WESG World Finals will have $890,000 on the line. The groups for the competition currently look as follows:

It's hard for idiots to get visa in any country. To get visa in any country, you need to prepare necessary documents and allow 1-2 weeks for processing. Is that fvcking hard to understand or you have a monkey brain?

Right. China is actually one of easiest country to get visa. Look at how many foreign visitors to China every year, in the millions. BUT you do need to show proper documents and give like 1 week processing time. You can't just show up on the last day and expect a visa given to you without checking. Only idiots do that and ofc they fail.
2019-03-05 19:53
If you really think professional players get in china as tourists visas or send their documents less than 2 weeks before the tourney you're really braindead, chinaman

this just confirms the hate of china for many countries based on their religion or ethnicity, kazakhistan which is like the most closest country to china in borders and you still can't get a visa to it

2019-03-05 16:44
then what are they playing cs for? love and faith? come on bro, they work for money.
2019-03-06 09:28
i didnt said they dont work 4 money. But money are over everything, no love in game at all nowadays, which shouldnt be like that. look at scene brother, everyone is organizing tournaments; no hierarchy, every second player is "star", every major champion is next newbie, quantity is over quality and etc. I think players knew it, but they invested a lot of time in their lives to be something in this game and they cant just give up like that + they have reason with a lot of money in packet to stay. To be in eyes of AdreN, player with a lot of experience and knowledge, how one guy from COD or CrossFire is destroying him and destroying his career is just sad..
2019-03-06 19:17
with so many tournaments, quantity over quality, smart guys should find easiest money to earn, right? i dont doubt that blast pro can be of more quality than some wesg, but that quality comes from teams like astralis, not from some teams like ence or k23. lets take ence 4 example, which do you think would be more enjoyable, smashed by navi and astralis then knocked out in groups, or kicking some tier 1024 teams all the way to the final and getting some free $200,000? and, im interestred in that adren interview u mentioned.
