mousesports hold talks for woxic, frozen and karrigan

MOUZ are lining up moves for Özgür "⁠woxic⁠" Eker, David "⁠frozen⁠" Čerňanský and Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen, HLTV.org and 1pv.fr can confirm.

The European giants are currently undergoing a major overhaul of their squad after failing to qualify for the IEM Katowice Major and are preparing for life without Miikka "⁠suNny⁠" Kemppi, who is being courted by Cloud9, as HLTV.org revealed on Monday evening.

MOUZ are looking to build their new team around Robin "⁠ropz⁠" Kool and Chris "⁠chrisJ⁠" de Jong, with the experienced Dutchman set to be brought back into the starting line-up. Tomáš "⁠oskar⁠" Šťastný was initially supposed to remain in the team, but recent developments see the 27-year-old moved to the bench.

As Dexerto reported on Monday, MOUZ are interested in signing karrigan, who recently returned to FaZe after a short loan with Envy. The Danish tactician is no stranger to the German organisation, which he represented for over two years across three different spells, in 1.6 and CS:GO, between 2010 and 2014.

In recent days, woxic has emerged as MOUZ' primary target to replace oskar in the sniper role. The 20-year-old has been with HellRaisers since August 2017, most notably helping the team to a top-eight finish at the FACEIT Major.

The final piece of the squad that MOUZ are looking to assemble is frozen, who was last seen representing NoChance. The 16-year-old's career has stagnated in the last year, but it seems now that he will finally get the chance to prove himself at the highest ever after emerging as one of the most promising young talents in Europe with eXtatus in 2017.

MOUZ are expected to make an announcement on the future of the squad in the coming days as the team will compete in the ECS Season 7 regular season, kicking off March 11.

If confirmed, these changes will leave MOUZ with the following line-up:

No , Woxic is Turkish and ISSAA is Jordanian, but they have a long story with each others , they were playing FPL together, and then played to a team called Gux and friends, the place where they played hard enough to be noticed by pro team , then Hellraisers contacted both of them , so you can say they are old friends and they used to play with each other.

It's better than a team with 2/3nationalities. Noone will be speaking their own language in the corner because it's more comfortable. Basically they have no option but to learn to communicate with everyone in english, on and off server. If approached correctly, this can be a used as an advantage for communication. Picking a term (and just this one term) to be used for whatever call it fits. Talk like you are in the army, short and efficient, use the same syntax (the order of the information presented). All this can more easily be decided upon, than if you were talking you own language, where you would more easily switch to "normal" talk instead of optimal cs.go communication. I do agree that it isn't optimal, but the above is clearly an advantage if you approach it like true professionals.

Getting multi kills on entry, having high impact, translating opening kills to round wins. You really think chrisj is a better entry fragger than sunny just because he has more opening kills, no that just means he goes for the kills more aggressively and early. Better than dupreeh? S1mple? Elige? Brehze? REZ? No those players are just on teams where other players also get entries (beside s1mple, s1mple #1) Getting a kill in a 4v4 is usually more impactful than getting a kill in a 5v5, it sways the round more. The only difference is you dont get an opening kill credit, you can still open the site up, create space and convert the round in the entry role without getting the entry kill. This happens a lot in rounds with early AWP kills. Guardian will get a pick on CT for example and then sunny or s1mple etc will get a multi kill on entry and convert the round. Just because they didnt rush early and take a 1 for 1 (which chrisj does a lot) doesnt mean that they werent a successful entry fragger.

Think about it this way, if I rushed every round and had tier 1 aim I'd win about 40% of my first fights (because of predictability) now that means id net .4 opening kills per round on average which seems incredible. Until you consider that in a lot of rounds I'm giving up the opening pick quite easily and also starting a lot of rounds as 4v4s (which on CT is always a disadvantage). Therefore just since I have the most entry kills it doesnt mean I'm the best entry fragger.

Well there was some kind of internal issues probably. That's maybe the reason why sunny wanted to leave. Oskar is a player which needs perfect mind set to play on god level and when there is some kind of team issues, he cant turn on his god mode. Imho i dont think that chrisJ was able to fit him to the team perfectly. Karrigan maybe could do that but w/e. Imho chrisJ will be dead weight in this team and will be benched again in few months. Frozen can be 2nd ropz, but im not really sure about it. I would love to see him performing well on 1st tier but.. i dunno.. w0xic wasnt so consistent either last few months... Time will tell..

Oskar=Main awper / Woxic=main awper / chrisj = secondary awper. There is a difference between main and secondary. Specially in oskar's case, because he's been playing main awp for too many years. Even if oskar has a better rifler skill, his problem is that he is not used to riflers role and is too old for a change like that (same goes to fallen)

I think his time in Envy improves my point as he in FaZe was surrounded by star players and therefore didnt have the room to get kills, but in Envy the level of his teammates and opponents was significantly worse and still his stats remained the same. If he can't put up bigger numbers in a team like Envy and their matchups i highly doubt he will do a satisfying work in mousesports.

Im pretty sure most Csgo pros are really skilled individually (except zeus maybe) but the lack of confidence hurt them the most , after tough loses. Karrigan was a decent fragger when they formed faze , look at him and rest of the faze players rn. Even NiKo is just average lately...they need psychologist just like Astralis to overcome themselves. People often underestimate chrisj as the raw rifler... He has shown time and time again since 2017 (when mouz were among top3), he would entry with rifles along with sunny on multiple maps.... He could open up rounds quite well... Since sunny is gone surely chrisj would be an aggressive component. Ropz has developed into solo anchor/lurk role quite well..

I never said chrisJ was a horrible rifle player, I just think that he has far less room to shine with a rifle than on AWP or as IGL. He has decent riflers, but I don't think I'd call him one of the best (They could likely find better riflers if that was what they were going for). Just curious to see how it works out.

Yeah that's true... But he's experienced, still relevant in the scene, will be a familiar face for ropz in a new lineup, and has the skill to succeed in multiple roles... They need atleast one other senior player with karrigan to make it a stable team.... . It will take time for them to get going.. I hope they get in shape till next major.

Watching him play is different than just watching his stats and their growth. There is obviously something about his style that is attractive to mousesports I'll say it again: People said the same thing about ropz and imminent failure. frozen is less of a risk than rope was and has been playing well in NoChance (In my opinion one of the best teams not in the Top 30) and generally is their most consistent player. I think there ARE better lower-tier players (huNter for instance), however I think that frozen is one of the better choices.

This all just seems a massive mess to me. SuNny is one of the best rifler in the world and almost irreplaceable considering who is available. Karrigan and Chris on one team won't work. ChrisJ is solid, just let him lead. Anyway, shame to see such an exciting team fall apart like this, no wonder no-one is challenging Astralis, they all just change players or IGLs etc as soon as they have a bad tournament. No-one is willing to stick together, bond as a team and work on their issues.

I think you need to chill at the end, mouz was together as 5 for 15 months and about 12 big tier 1 events. They had seen the peaks and troughs of that lineup enough to know it was never going to be a consistent top 3 team. I agree that they should have practiced harder for the major but that has to fall on coaching and leadership doesnt it? You cant just claim there are problems and then say "God damn why dont teams just work through them" not every problem is fixable between those 5, roster changes are the answer sometimes

Youre focusing too much on his time with Envy, My guess and thats all it is, was his time with Envy was to develop a system in which that team could gel. I dont think he was brought in to frag at all. At times he seemed almost disinterested in taking fights and making calls for his team to come in and support. I think this move in the long run will see Karrigan transition to a coaching role in mouz.

Hes a good roleplayer, pretty versatile. Can AWP, Entry, IGL, support. Beyond that he gives good comms and is pretty reliable. Hes usually never the reason you lose a game but also rarely wins it for you. Holding a 1.0 or .97 whatever he had as an IGL and entry in tier 1 is quite difficult, most players would not be able to handle that.

apparently to this danish guy signing frozen is a “lul” although he has been one of the hottest prospects in EU for a while. woxic has been carrying HR whole year. Just because he had better players doesnt mean he didnt take those players to a higher level from what they were at than chrisj took his. Mouz roster by all accounts should have been top 5 all of last year. They had 3 top 20 players a highly regarded "fragging IGL" and a great support player, top 5 support easily. Karrigan gets the most of out his players individually and is very good at setting up his star players to succeed, which is something mouz has struggle with either ropz or oskar seemingly randomly dropping off for months at a time.

Chrisj is not an AWPer, not sure who the other one is. Woxic is the only primary AWPer and chrisj has played non IGL positions most of his career, even in mouz he acted most like an entry

Chrisj has transitioned to an entry fragger over the past years and before this mouz he never IGLd, he was forced to accept the role to stay on the team essentially and they never got a real IGL because individuals carried. Oskar is benched, learn to read.

Chrisj and Oskar as only AWP worked. IF anything having a double AWP option will make them stronger. Chrisj can help with IGL but karrigan will be main IGL. Chrisj didnt used to IGL, for most of his career he wasnt. Frozen has great potential

Having chrisJ + karrigan in team doesnt make any sense to me. ChrisJ can IGL and at least frag decent(second awp), while botigan is just... botigan. He didnt do shit even in T2 games lately. On a trail maybe, but buying him out or anyting is simply not worth it. Ex6 is kinda free to get ( i guess) and few more in lower level teams who are speaking english. I would like to see sunny ropz oskar frozen and one IGL (ropz more of a support role).

Then what i wrote makes even more sense. Having chrisJ and botigan is completely redundant as neither of them is great fragger, chrisJ has good maps, ill give him that and his awp is decent on CT. On the other hand i dont think hes that great IGL. And woxic for oskar? Seems more like personal issues in mouz, cause thats hardly an upgrade, hopefully decent replacement.

He didnt do shit in faze and he was kicked from astralis (or he left on his own doesnt even matter what do you believe) which they THEN became godlike team with gla1ve. So go figure yourself. He played lately some T2 tournaments where he was almost invisible.

Uhm before faze got niko he took them from top 16 to top 4 then they got Niko and became #1/2 hltv.org/ranking/teams/2016/october/24 Faze acquire karrigan hltv.org/ranking/teams/2016/december/26 Faze pick up kio for jkaem hltv.org/ranking/teams/2017/february/6 Faze top5. He did plenty in faze, then what he did stopped working and the players didnt want to build a new system so they all played very individually and event Niko decided to IGL and obviously you're going to take Niko over an IGL who no longer has the respect of the team. Yes gla1ve is also the best IGL in CS:GO history, not everyone can be gla1ve. Karrigan knows counterstrike well and has styles that work well especially on teams with a lot of aimers. It's funny you dont realize that your comments are actually compliments to karrigan "he was on the best Danish roster" "he IGLd for the best mix team in CSGO history" But I guess you could IGL faze better? Or at least make a suggestion as to who could?
