Heroic invited to Copenhagen Games

The first team to be confirmed for Copenhagen Games 2019 is the Danish squad Heroic.

Heroic finished runners-up in last year's edition of the tournament, losing to Imperial in the grand final, albeit the Danish roster was a vastly different one, led by Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer.

Heroic accepted the invitation to play at Copenhagen Games

Adam "friberg" Friberg's team, currently ranked #26 in the world, recently parted ways with Asger "AcilioN" Larsen, and have been seen playing with Filip "NEO" Kubski online. However, they are yet to decide on their fifth player.

"Copenhagen Games is one of those events that combines a really good atmosphere in a great location with good teams.
We are honored with the opportunity to compete on our 'home soil' once again. Last year we reached the finals; this year we're coming back for the trophy." - Luis "peacemaker" Tadeu

Eight teams will be competing in the main tournament at Copenhagen Games, where $100,000 will be up for grabs. Three more teams will receive invites to the tournament, while four will earn their spot at the event through the main qualifier.

The team list for Copenhagen Games 2019 is as follows:

Are they not inviting north if they are announcing heroic first? I guess they could still invite optic. They should invite valiance considering espiranto&nexa won last one and valiance also attended.
2019-03-09 15:13
Good question. Maybe they have been in talks with North and they are elsewhere engaged so they spared everyone the mess of inviting some that won't attend.
2019-03-09 15:46
North thinks they're too good for CPH Games. Arrogant team

1 year is crazy long time in CS. From cph2018 3 orgs gone (imperial, QBF, kinguin), 3 teams have only 2 players from then (sprout, heroic, valiance), the last 2 have 3 members from then (windigo, north).

"invites" are who accepted them. They wouldn't say they invited astralis just to have astralis publicly decline. I doubt astralis will ever play <100k events

It's kinda sad that teams don't care about the event environment, only about money. But that's how the world works.. you dance for anyone willing to throw green paper at you.

totally agree. Astralis have already made over 60 million dollars and there still making tourneys boring.
2019-03-09 18:19
60 million? Where did you get that number from?
2019-03-10 00:56
I don't agree. Imagine is Heroric is like the top team of those at the tournament, then how would it look if Astralis showed up. That would be like hvaing a NFL team taking part in some high school tournament = no fun for anyone. Not that I Astralis necesarily would not take part, but it would have to be with more top teams then else it would just be silly.
