mithR to stay on as North coach
The Danish coach has agreed a permanent deal with North after undergoing a one-month trial, having taken over the team at the beginning of February following Alexander "ave" Holdt's departure due to personal reasons.
During his trial period, mithR oversaw North's title-winning campaign at the four-team GG.BET ICE Challenge event, in London, where the Danes beat Natus Vincere 2-0 in the final to pick up their first title under Casper "cadiaN" Møller.
After the British event, cadiaN heaped praise on mithR for his ability to instill a renewed sense of confidence in a squad that had been dealt a huge blow after failing to qualify for the IEM Katowice Major.
"The past month has been challenging but also great," mithR said in a statement. "The players and staff of North have been great at welcoming me to the organization, and have given me the responsibility of implementing my own principles of play and structure to the playstyle and way of practice.
"I feel very motivated by the high ambitions around this team. Despite rough periods for the team, I feel confident in my ability to bring the team back on track.
"The players and staff behind have put their faith in me to restore their confidence and bring back the hype and work ethic."
North, who are currently ranked 12th in the world, will make their next LAN appearance at StarSeries i-League Season 7, which will run from March 30 through April 7 in Shanghai, with $500,000 on the line.
