ESL reveals Pro League S9 Europe, Americas schedule

ESL has announced the schedule for the regular season of Pro League Season 9 in Europe and in the Americas.

In both regions, action will start on April 12 with the first group stage, featuring four groups of four teams. The group winners will automatically progress to the season finals, while the runners-up and third-placed sides will be placed in a second group stage.

Kicking off May 14, the second stage will see eight teams split into two groups. In Europe, the top two sides from both groups will qualify for the offline event, bringing the region's team count to eight (one more than in the previous two seasons).

Pro League Season 9 brings offline matches to Europe and the Americas

In the Americas, only the group winners will progress to the season finals as the region has been allocated just six places in the main tournament, one fewer than in seasons 7 and 8, in which North America had six slots and South America had its own qualifying tournament called ESL LA League.

More details about the format of the group stages and the relegation and promotion systems will soon be announced by ESL. The European matches will be hosted offline at the ESL studio in Leicester, while the Americas clashes will be played at an as-yet undisclosed location in the United States.

Below you can find the schedule for the two competitions:

First group stage:

Group A: April 12-14
Group B: April 16-18
Group C: April 19-21
Group D: April 23-25

Second group stage:

Group A: May 14-16
Group B: May 21-23

The following teams will be taking part in the Pro League regular season in Europe and the Americas:

2019-03-14 00:11
Qualifying from MDL like everyone else (promotion is on only during seasons when EPL is also played), I think they lost to 3DMAX in playoffs last time and though lost their chance to qualify for this upcoming season.

Fuck this horrible league structure, how can this even be a league if you split all the teams in four grups? Now that we have 16 teams for each league, would have been perfect for a all against all scheme.
