SHiPZ secures WESG MVP award
Georgi "SHiPZ" Grigorov has been awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of WESG 2018 World Finals by HLTV.org and betway.
The 18-year-old claimed the medal after inspiring Windigo to their biggest victory yet at WESG 2018 World Finals with a team-leading 1.28 rating over the course of the Chinese tournament.
SHiPZ was a consistent force across the Bulgarian side's victories, with 1.00+ ratings in 10 out of 11 map wins, including some huge performances such as a 2.59 rating on Overpass against G2 in the semi-finals of the event and a 1.45 rating on Mirage in the grand final versus AGO.
The youngster beat one of his final opponents, Dominik "GruBy" Swiderski, to the award, as well as Kenny "kennyS" Schrub, who put up the highest rating at the tournament and was the most consistent, but he mostly garnered great performances up against lower-tier opposition in the earlier stages of WESG.
This is the first MVP medal for SHiPZ, which comes in the Bulgarian's first-ever attendance at a tournament with the award on the line.
