Virtus.pro bench TOAO
The Polish team will be trialing several players over the next weeks, the first being PACT member Kamil "Sobol" Sobolewski, who will be playing for the squad in the upcoming GG.BET Sydney Invitational, with Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski taking over as in-game leader.
This will be the second time that Snax will be calling the shots for Virtus.pro. The first lasted approximately five months in 2017 and ended with him criticizing his teammates for taking issue with his loose style.
TOAO has been on Virtus.pro's books since December 2018, when the team underwent a complete overhaul after replacing three players, including legendary duo Filip "NEO" Kubski and Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski. But results have failed to improve under the leadership of the former AGO player, with the team currently sitting 56th in the rankings.
"As our CS:GO roster's performance have failed to meet our expectations, we have made this decision together with the players," Virtus.pro General Manager Roman Dvoryankin said in a statement.
"We will announce our future plans after Charleroi Esports."
It is currently unclear whether Sobol, who was part of the MIKSTURA side that competed in the closed qualifier for the most recent Europe Minor, will be Virtus.pro's fifth player at Charleroi Esports. The Belgian event will run from April 12-14 and will have over $110,000 up for grabs.
Virtus.pro currently have:
Mateusz "TOAO" Zawistowski (benched)
Jakub "kuben" Gurczynski (coach)
