Winners League Invite S2 set to start with $15,000 in EU&NA

The multi-division online league based on FACEIT's platform has expanded to North America for the second season and will have a total of ~$45,000 up for grabs across multiple competitions.

The first season of Winners League's Invite division was won by x6tence Galaxy in December, with the Swedish team claiming $7,000 after defeating Bpro in the grand finals of the playoffs. Now, the second season of the tournament has been announced, set to start on April 2, with an expansion to North America on the cards as well.

byali's Virtus.pro headline the European division of Winners League

On both continents, multiple divisions will be run. Starter ($4,800 prize pool), Main ($6,100), and Invite ($15,000) will be played in Europe, and only Starter ($4,800) and Invite ($15,000) in North America, with 25% of the entry fees being added to the existing prize pool.

For details about signups and fees for the non-invite divisions, see Winners League's website.

The Invite division will feature a total of 32 teams in both Europe and North America, starting off with eight-team BO1 round-robin groups. The four best teams from each group will advance to the BO3 single-elimination playoffs.

In Europe, the following teams will participate in the Invite division:

While these teams will be competing in Winners League Invite Season 2 North America:

2. $3,000
3-4. $1,500
5-8. $500

I think diversifying the tournament portofolio of the csgo scene is a good thing. More teams gets a chance to shine when productions like this are held. Interesting that those new teams also gets to try their powers against teams like VP and luminosity for example. I like this.
2019-03-28 09:36
Finally someone willing to give a chance to lower tier teams to prove and progress themselves. CS is a beautiful game owned by everyone, not just the big dogs. Let's face it, Astralis demolishing everyone will become boring in a few days :)
2019-03-28 11:33
why are all these upper tier teams playing in this? t1, luminosity, denial etc? it is not very big prize pool and it seems more aimed for adv / mid lvl mdl
