fnatic beat NRG 2-0; to face Natus Vincere in the final

fnatic beat NRG in two maps, 19-17 on Cache and Overpass, to move on to the grand final where they will play Natus Vincere in a best-of-five.

The match between NRG and fnatic kicked off on the latter’s map pick, Cache, but it was NRG who took the first two rounds. With weapon superiority, fnatic won the first gun round prior to tying the match up early on, 2-2, as Simon "twist" Eliasson bagged a triple. fnatic then took a 4-2 lead, but doubles by Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov and Ethan "Ethan" Arnold kept it within one. After the initial back-and-forth, it was finally NRG who were able to take a 9-6 lead at the half.

fnatic then won the second pistol round on the defending side, bridging the gap and getting it to within one. After losing the first gun round, fnatic won the following to keep the match wide open. On the CT side, it was finally the Swedes who started to shine taking a 14-12 lead, but as the last rounds got into a chaotic exchange, it was NRG who were able to win the last few times to take it into overtime.

twist won a 1vs1 against Ethan in the first round of overtime to give his team the lead, which they were then able to maintain after trading rounds. The Swedes then got on match point winning the first round on the attack after which they were able to seal the deal, 19-17.

fnatic will face off against Natus Vincere in the final

fnatic then took the first pistol round on the attacking side of Overpass as twist and Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson scored doubles on a play that ended with the Swedes hitting the A site. After a 3-0 lead, NRG took control of the map on the defense stopping fnatic six times in a row before giving up another round. A small push by fnatic kept it close, but it was finally the American side that closed the half out 9-6.

NRG then won the second pistol round and the follow-up to get an 11-6 lead, but fnatic became extremely dominant the second they got their hands on proper equipment, winning six rounds in a row to take a 12-11 lead. NRG were finally able to win a gun round after an A hit to tie it back up, 12-12, before retaking the lead. A failed B play then once again tied it up as the last rounds went to and fro all the way to 15-15.

fnatic then dominated the first half of overtime, winning the three rounds ahead of the switch as Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin pulled out some great multi-kills. Ethan kept the match alive on the defense winning a 1vs3 clutch situation. It looked like NRG would be able to tie the match up for a second overtime, but a successful A strike from the Swedes ended the match, 19-17.

2019-04-06 23:12
Xizt haters where? Compare fnatic to NiP, at least fnatic has a game plan
2019-04-07 03:03
So we must judge him from one event? I mean let's forgot all the past events where Fnatic looks like shit and loses in group stage with Xizt bottom fragging every single game, no strats, no tactics, playing standard shit and losing hard so easily to even teams they should be beating. Fnatic doesn't have any game plan btw they got lucky here with 2 over time wins, Na'vi is going to shit on them in the final.
2019-04-07 04:40
I think NaVi will win as well but lets face it, every time a team tries to blame the low fragging IGL as the problem it doesn’t work out. FaZe is hardly better now. NiP is actually atrocious to watch now with the hobby caller Lekr0 instead of okay IGL Xizt. NaVi would be worse as well without Zeus. There is a reason why every pro rates IGLs high, and not just looks at the set up stars that every casual hypes.
2019-04-07 04:49
NiP are way better now then they were with Xizt prior to them kicking him he hadn't had a single positive event on LAN meaning 1.00 rating or above for 13 straight months in other words he never played good so it was the right call. FaZe bad example pure pug team relying on individual skill, same as when they had Karrigan still a shit team, this type of team needs everything to go perfectly for them to win an event nothing about their play style is consistent. Xizt is Fnatic's problem atm, the reason they are playing so bad at almost every event since he joined. Daps out fragged him here in the loss ffs, Daps who is an actual IGL.
2019-04-07 05:39
You are basing all your arguments on Xizts rating. NiP haven’t won a tournament since he lead them, and he worked overall with less talent compared to now. They had fully acceptable strats with him, I’m not saying he’s THE best but I’m highlighting the importance of having a real IGL. And you’re underrating karrigan.
