Windigo qualify for DreamHack Open Tours over Valiance

Windigo have secured a 2-1 victory over Valiance in the grand final of the DreamHack Open Tours European closed qualifier.

The Bulgarian squad progressed through the playoff bracket by picking up best-of-three wins over Lyngby Vikings and devils.one, while their grand final competitor, Valiance, bested Unique and AGO. The final served as a rematch from the United Masters League Finals title decider, in which Windigo had fallen short to Valiance.

The grand final kicked off with both teams winning each other's map picks comfortably, 16-5 on Nuke, and 8-16 on Dust2, with the deciding map being a much closer affair as the Bulgarians closed out Mirage 16-14 despite Nemanja "nexa" Isaković and Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač both hitting the 30-frag mark.

Windigo are the second team to qualify for DH Open Tours 2019

The victory for Windigo sees them qualify for DreamHack Open Tours, joining French side chebran, who acquired their spot through the French closed qualifier, as the second confirmed participant. Invites are yet to be handed out to the remaining six teams.

The tournament will run May 17 through May 19 in Tours, France, with 8 teams squaring off for the $100,000 prize pool.
