Rickeh ruled out of ESL Pro League Americas; n0thing to stand in

Due to visa issues, Ricardo "Rickeh" Mulholland has been ruled out of ESL Pro League Season 9, which will see Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert step back into compLexity.

The news was announced during the organization's weekly press conference series' 22nd episode, in which CEO Jason Lake revealed that Rickeh is currently in Canada facing visa issues.

compLexity have once again called upon n0thing, who will undergo another stand-in stint with the team at ESL Pro League Season 9 Americas after spending the first three months of 2019 as a temporary fifth, attending iBUYPOWER Masters, ELEAGUE Invitational, and IEM Katowice before the squad added Hunter "SicK" Mims.

Rickeh will sit out the first group stage of ESL Pro League Season 9 Americas

It's unclear for how long the Australian player will be out of action and whether it could extend beyond ESL Pro League, which is kicking off on April 12, with compLexity placed in Group B (April 17-19) alongside Liquid, Ghost, and Lazarus.

Should the team qualify directly to the finals, they will not have any obligations afterward until ECS Season 7 Finals at the beginning of June. However, advancing to the second group stage could see the team have to utilize a stand-in once more if the visa issues aren't resolved by that time.

compLexity are the third ESL Pro League team hindered by problems with visas. Renegades announced that Sean "Gratisfaction" Kaiwai and Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad would miss the event, with Owen "smooya" Butterfield and Stephen "reltuC" Cutler stepping in for the Australian side, while INTZ's Vito "kNgV-" Giuseppe and Lucas "destiny" Bullo will be replaced by Gustavo "SHOOWTiME" Gonçalves and João "horvy" Horvath.

compLexity's roster at ESL Pro League Season 9 Americas will be:

United States Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan
United Kingdom Rory "dephh" Jackson
Canada Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz
United States Hunter "SicK" Mims
United States Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert (stand-in)

Stoopid visa issues all the time... Maybe NA is not so great after all...
2019-04-12 01:22
F5 I just posted this in forums as well since I didnt saw an article. US has denied 4 Visa applications for this tournament alone, with jkaem probably not coming either
2019-04-12 01:19
Jkaems is a passport from norway though he just needs the government to send him his passport
2019-04-12 01:25
Don’t cheat or lie and you’ll be fine. If denied visa just cross illegally! Shit 3000 people week did on the southern boarder. Better than the snow to the north lol

I wonder for how long CS teams will manage to struggle with fucking visas. I can't even understand why a country would require visas from Australians. Even more from one that traveled to multiple countries already.

What was the problem in the first place? Rickeh overstayed his original visa and now cant get into USA so has to live/play from Canada? If Rickeh cant get visa's anymore coL should just cut him and invest time/money into a player who has a future
