mousesports qualify for ESL Pro League S9 Finals; OpTic & North to group stage 2

Group A of ESL Pro League S9 was played out; mousesports topped it with a 3-0 record, qualifying for the finals, while ex-Space Soldiers were eliminated.

mousesports started the last day of ESL Pro League Season 9 Europe Group A Stage 1 by facing off against North on their map pick of Train. After a back-and-forth start, 4-3 for North, Finn "karrigan" Andersen's troops put up a strong defense and secured the remaining rounds of the half, going 11-4 up. The European mixture didn't let go of the pressure after the switch, closing out the game with a 13-round streak in total, 16-4.

mousesports showed strong form in their first LAN outing

Mirage followed, and similarly, North grabbed a few rounds early and made it seem like it could be a tight game, but mousesports hit a higher gear soon and ran away with the lead, 10-5 for the Terrorist side. Once again, they claimed the second pistol and finished the game promptly, not dropping a round in the second half to make it 16-5.

OpTic and ex-Space Soldiers faced off next, the Danes starting off on the CT side of Mirage and bagging the early lead, 9-1. The Turkish side finally woke up and strung four rounds together (9-5), but that was too little, too late, as OpTic's furious start in the second half saw them close out the map 16-6.

yam's team has been eliminated from the tournament

It was more of the same on Overpass, where ex-Space Soldiers had to play catch up from 7-1 on the CT side. A few rounds were mustered by Engin "ngiN" Kor and co. with the second half pistol round win putting them within reach of the Danes, 10-7. However, Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke and Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen stepped up towards the end of the game to help their side close it out and finish the group stage with two wins.

I wasn't sure before, but now I think they could become better than the previous lineup. They have a great IGL now and a new coach. Maybe they will also play a bit more structured instead of pug style. Whenever pug style didn't work, they lost motivation.
2019-04-15 10:16
That's good for mouz but look at the competition. The best player in any of those 3 teams (valde) didn't even fucking show up.

I mean, they're a new team so it's hard to judge them. They need some time to really gauge where they stand. I think they're okay, but the core of the team hasn't done a lot despite being at least relatively talented.

It was a nice run out of mouz. But to be honest, it was one of the easier groups in my opinion. Against North, which was the hardest one of them, they won quite convincingly.

Mouz looks convincingly good. Didn't have doubts about him being a fit in mouz. Envyus was a diff story. Might expect more of this from them now that ropz is fragging efficiently.
