Liquid top Pro League Americas Group B; Ghost, compLexity advance to next stage

Liquid have booked their spot at the ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals after finishing at the top of Group B with a 3-0 record.

The final day began with a clash between Liquid and Ghost, both of whom were sitting at the top of the group on six points after winning their previous encounters. Mirage kicked off the series and it was a complete blowout as Liquid ran all over their opponents, with Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski boasting a 2.06 rating after putting in a 27-8 score.

EliGE led the charge for Liquid across the serie

The 21-year-old remained a huge driving force for Liquid on the following map, Dust2, once again topping the scoreboard. Ghost put up more of a fight on this map but still came up short in the end, settling for second place in the group.

Next up was a tension-filled battle for survival as compLexity and Lazarus faced off searching for their first win in the tournament. Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz's side, who competed in the group stage with Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert as a stand-in, took the lead in the series in a nail-biting Mirage game that went to overtime.

compLexity move on to the second group stage

Next up was Nuke, where Lazarus recovered from a 0-5 defeat and closed out the half with an 8-7 lead on the CT side. compLexity were in control for large portions of the second half and constantly traded back their opponents' round victories, eventually locking down the map at 16-13.

Zellsis is sick, he just went up the ladder too fast. Give him some time to adapt to higher level cs and this guy is going places. He's not as underrated as stavn tho
