[VOD] Vertigo's LAN debut, round-robin drawbacks, EPL update on HLTV Confirmed tonight

HLTV Confirmed returns with the 15th episode at 20:00 CEST tonight, which will see the panel look back at the recently concluded Copenhagen and Rio tournaments and give an update on ESL Pro League.

The VOD is now available:

Zvonimir "Professeur" Burazin, Chad "SPUNJ" Burchill, and Milan "Striker" Švejda will be on the panel in the 15th episode, dissecting the conclusion of Copenhagen Games and DreamHack Open Rio.

The latter event featured the first Vertigo matches on LAN, with FURIA destroying their opponents on the newly introduced map on both occasions, so we will look at how the map was played and how it compared to our expectations in the previous episode.

It seems FURIA got a head start on Vertigo

The panel will also update you on the results of groups B & C, which saw some more round-robin drawbacks come into the spotlight as various teams' fates were decided by tiebreakers, and look ahead at the upcoming groups D in both regions.

Lastly, we will preview IEM Sydney a little early this week, with a follow-up set for Friday, when we draft HLTV Fantasy for the Australian event with some guests.

1. Copenhagen Games
- forZe deliver on LAN as well
2. DH Open Rio
- AVANGAR come out on top
- FURIA destroy Vertigo debut
3. EPL groups B & C
- Two more Pro League groups are behind us
- Round robin drawbacks
4. GG.BET Masterbettor
- It's another forfeit for Striker
5. EPL group D
- First LAN appearance for HellRaisers
6. IEM Sydney preview
- An early look at the Australian event

nice!

FURIA has less experience in comparison with AVANGAR and had great games against them in Major and now in a Grandfinal. So, very bad bait.

was the first vertigo in a ''''big tournament'''
2019-04-23 00:45
I wouldn't consider Copenhagen much smaller than a DH Open, plus I don't think of DH Opens as "big" tournaments. But even if that's what they meant it's not what they said.

Movistar Riders Vertigo > forze Vertigo atm imo

That's not a thing to be proud of. Vertigo is an AIDs map.

talking about DH OPEN without talking about AVANGAR at all pretty much, bruh they won their first LAN after roster change and nobody cares, most underrated team by far
2019-04-22 23:47
Did you not see the teams that were there? The only other "good" team was Furia who choked away the final which is a bigger story than Avangar beating a bunch of unknown Brazilians and Americans.

i dont know why spunj try to explain different formats of tournaments...idiots cry because they favourite team was eliminated at groups and best way for excuse is format... And they dont care about diversity.
2019-04-23 04:03
Round Robin is terrible for CS. Maps difference is actually fair but it does not discriminate enough. You will have draws. Resorting to RD is somewhat fair ONLY if all 30 rounds per map have been played but we know it will not happen. If the players picked that format don't let them pick the format they are clueless. The suitable format that would have respect the wish of the players -- being able to finish 1st when loosing their first match -- would be double elimination bracket. Spunj is so completely wrong in that segment. You can NOT count on competitive integrity just the same way you can not could on your elected representative to not abuse their powers. You need rules that do limit as much as possible for bad actor to act badly. Having different competition with different formats is good unless the formats are bad!

Terrible map. Cramped layout and because everything is so stacked and tight you can't contrast between areas you think sound is coming from like gunshots and footsteps. Also the way it's layed out let's cts have immediate, unwinnable site control that is just awkward to play with.
2019-04-23 05:48
What the hell is wrong with normal bo3 format that you had to use stupid stinking round robin format?? Blyat
