IEM Chicago 2019 announced
Eight teams will be competing at this years IEM stop in Chicago, which will take place on 18-21 July and have $250,000 up for grabs.
The group stage will be played out on the first two days, backstage, while the playoffs of the tournament will take place in the United Center, the 23,500-seater arena that is the home of the Chicago Bulls, on July 20-21. IEM Chicago 2019 will happen earlier in the year than it did in 2018, towards the end of July, making it overlap with the Americas and Europe Minors in Berlin.
Only eight teams will be in competition, down from last year's sixteen, with the competitors being placed in two fully-BO3 GSL groups and only the two best squads advancing to the playoffs.
