Grayhound knock out Heroic; Chiefs see off ViCi

Grayhound and Chiefs have stayed alive at IEM Sydney after defeating Heroic and ViCi, respectively, in the lower-bracket.

Heroic and Grayhound began their lower-bracket best-of-three series on Inferno where the Danes got off to a blazing start to pick up the first eight rounds on the CT-side. Grayhound got on the scoreboard with a team ace in the ninth round but Heroic went on to lead 12-3 at halftime.

Grayhound were indomitable in the second half, winning nine rounds with ease to tie the game at 12-12. Benjamin "blameF" Bremer and Adam "friberg" Friberg clutched a 2vs4 in the 25th round to stop Grayhound's streak and reclaim the lead (13-12). The Oceanic team finished off the map in overtime, winning 19-15.

Grayhound's comebacks secured their victory

The Danes built up a hefty lead on the CT-side on Mirage, leading 11-4 at halftime. However, they didn't allow Grayhound to come back this time around, closing out the map with a 16-5 score.

Erdenetsogt "erkaSt" Gantulga and company kicked off Overpass on the T-side and secured the first three rounds. Heroic responded by taking nine of the following ten rounds to lead 9-4. Grayhound came back from 10-5 thanks to an incredible CT-side campaign and took the 16-11 map victory. Grayhound won the series 2-1 to eliminate Heroic.

Chiefs took on ViCi in the other lower-bracket match which kicked off on Dust2. The T-sided Chiefs secured five of the first six rounds but ViCi kept it close throughout the rest of the half and trailed 8-7 at halftime.

The Oceanic team had the exact same start on the CT-side as they did in the first half, winning four of the first five to lead 13-8. ViCi managed to come back and tie the game at 14-14 but Chiefs earned one map point thanks to Tyler "tucks" Reilly' quad kill in the penultimate round. Ryan "zewsy" Palmer and company closed out the map with a 16-14 scoreline.

Chiefs stayed alive

ViCi were much better on Inferno where they led 11-4 at halftime after a strong performance as Ts. The Chinese team ended the map in quick fashion on the CT-side, winning it 16-5.

Chiefs started Nuke on the T-side and picked up six rounds in the first half. The Oceanic side lost only one round in the second half, taking the 16-10 map victory and winning the series 2-1.

I think the average is closer to 1.04-1.05. only 2 players below 1.0
2019-05-01 09:00
I was speaking more to Heroic, they all preformed well individually but couldn’t pull it out, choking inferno specifically.

I know. I'm saying that if the entire team had 1.01 they would lose all the time even in bo1 let alone in bo3. And the ratings are biased towards heroic because 1 map was completely 1 sided. On the other 2 maps only 2 players are positive (es3tag&friberg) with friberg barely making it and KDR wise just friberg making it.
2019-05-01 11:00
They should have won inferno after 12-3 half, major lapse. Really their only bad map was overpass, never seemed to get it going. But I understand what you’re saying.
