North qualify for ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals

North have locked down a spot at the EPL Season 9 Finals in Montpellier, defeating Heroic 2-0 in Group B (Nuke 16-8, Mirage 16-10).

The series began on Nuke, with North cruising to a 3-0 start on the Terrorist side. However, Heroic found their footing to claim seven of the next nine rounds to pull the game in their favour. Adam "friberg" Friberg and co were unable to capitalise on their lead, with North picking up the final three rounds of the half for an 8-7 lead.

The second half saw Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså and squad seize control on the defensive side, securing four rounds consecutively to move into a comfortable 12-7 lead, with Heroic only managing to lock down the 20th round in reply. A single T round was all Heroic could muster, with a triple-kill from Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye helping North to reach map point at 15-8 before the team eventually closed out the game.

Mirage followed, with North continuing their early round dominance, achieving another 3-0 start to the map. A triple-kill by Benjamin "blameF" Bremer on the A bombsite in the fifth round put Heroic in the driver’s seat, however, as they went on to cop six of the following eight rounds to reclaim the lead. North found a response in the remaining rounds of the half, picking up four in a row to lead 9-6 at the halfway mark.

From there on, the map looked out of Heroic’s hands. A four-round streak after losing the pistol was all they could attain, with North dominating the remainder of half, securing the map 16-10, and the series 2-0.

He ... "should" doesn't work at the top at the moment: Navi in trouble in ROUND TWO after having lost to G2 in first round ... NiP out! BiG beating Astralis on Inferno ... Ence coming from nowhere beating up everybody, but still dropping maps to anybody ... Mousesports, Renegades and Windigo hammering away ... The competition is FIERCE!

This isn't nearly their first game of the event so that first game loss/slow start is not applicable here
