NOTBAD, Warthox through to CIS Minor closed qualifier

The second CIS Minor open qualifier has concluded with NOTBAD and Warthox emerging on top, booking their spots in the closed part.

After pro100 and Unique topped the first open qualifier on Saturday, the second tournament took place over the last two days, with around 300 teams in attendance at the start once again.

Nikita "waterfaLLZ" Matveyev's EXTREMUM, who reached the top-four stage the first time around, exited the tournament very early on, in round of 256, to Atlants' core called Neverlan.

Former Tengri player SNk led NOTBAD to a closed qualifier spot

On the other hand, another team who barely missed out on a spot in the closed qualifier in their first attempt, Warthox succeeded this time, beating Pavel "hutji" Lashkov's buaksib and HealthPoint to book a spot in the closed qualifier.

NOTBAD, notably featuring Mikhail "moonsh1n3" Popkov, Ilya "fix" Golovko, and Aleksandr "SNk" Semkin, were the other team who made it all the way through to a top-two placing with a close victory over Kazakh side LOG and a series triumph against NorBant.

With two open tournaments left to be played over the course of the next week, the participants' list of the closed qualifier looks as follows:

Russia Spirit
Belarus Nemiga

They've made it through to the closed minor qualifier, they've got a long way to go before they even get close to the major.
2019-05-28 22:04
doesn't change the fact cis has its own slots to qualify to the major

But so does SA, Asia and Oceania. Majors are meant to be inclusive, giving teams from all over the world a chance to play for one of the biggest titles of the year.
2019-05-28 22:21
they can play in eu quals, how fucking hard is it to understand?

But then you'd have to increase the amount of EU spots, which is unfair for other regions. This is why dumb HLTV users should never organise an event.
2019-05-28 22:25
if you think that would be the only solution then you can't have more than 75 iq it took you 3 posts to understand my point and yet you call me dumb typical uk toxic kid

So if you remove the CIS qualifier and they have to qualify through the EU qualifier, what is your solution? FYI there would be 2 spots that would have to be filled.
2019-05-28 22:31
you're right, there is literally no solution to this problem I might have been too generous with 75

you started with the insults and now you're surprised I'm not going to have a normal conversation with you? I was definitely too generous with 75

Lol, CIS region is much better than Asia or North America. Maybe you want own Poland region?
2019-05-28 22:09
no, cis is shit none of these teams would make it through eu qual and talking about me wanting a poland region shows you've got 75 iq top
2019-05-28 22:12
i think that only Forze can fight with eu teams and make it through them, other are really shit(because Vega, Winstrike and Spirit recently changed their roster). But at the same time Asia and Na also are shit. Eu region is the biggest so it is clear why it is the best.
2019-05-28 22:32
when was the last time a team from cis qual made impact at a major? Asia and NA are shit as well but you can't really expect them to travel to another continent to play in qualifiers. CIS teams could go to either eu or asian ones whichever is closer
2019-05-28 22:59
QB Fire as an example
2019-05-28 23:01
Absolutely agree with you, see no reason to divide our regions - give to Europe 4 slots on Major, easy solution.
2019-05-29 18:08
who and who?? Why would russians get a qualifier for themeselves if they have low iq as fuck?? Just for diversity....

2019-05-28 22:05
same shit idc. Vodka countries are shit at cs you can easily see when they are on faceit, they cant even communicate with someone with a normal IQ....Yes sure Navi is a good team but look how many players they have in vodka land and how many good teams..... and even then Navi is known for having low IQ strats

Still using pick one in 2019, ok.
2019-05-28 22:12
i agree with you, but in asia is the same thing. In CIS many "mixsquads" play qualifications. Old and disbanded players play it with their friends just for fun. Also it is a wrong stereotype that all cis players are shit. Many of them are really toxic idiots without a brain, but you also can find some very very good players who know English, have nice aim and cs knowledge, can communicate with other people.
2019-05-28 22:18
yes like 1% lmao, the 99% represents the CIS not the 1%
