GamerLegion, Maknitude move on to EU Minor closed qualifier
Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom was one of the most talked about players of the latter stages of the qualifier as he showed glimpses of his best form in GamerLegion's top-two finish. The Belgian talent averaged a 1.34 rating over the course of the day, helping his team to beat Giants, Nexus Academy and Epsilon.
The semi-final loss to Kévin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans's side came as a heavy blow to Epsilon, who for the second week in a row have fallen at the last hurdle. The European team are still trying to adjust to life without Nils "k1to" Gruhne, who linked up with Sprout, and have been playing with Rasmus "kreaz" Johansson in the German's stead.
The second qualifying spot was decided by a Nordic clash between Chaos and Maknitude. The Danish team, came out on top of the series after three matches with another strong individual display by Martin "PERCY" Wessel, who put in a 1.49 rating in the final stages of the tournament. The qualification comes as a timely boost to the newly-founded Danish organisation, who are actively searching for sponsors to support the squad.
The closed qualifier for the Europe Minor will be held from June 10-12 and will see 16 teams square off for eight spots at the LAN event, where $50,000 and a minimum of two Major spots will be on the line.
