BLUEJAYS, Tricked secure ESL One New York Europe closed qualifier spots

BLUEJAYS and Tricked have finished inside the top two in the ESL One New York Europe Open Qualifier 2 to punch their ticket to the closed stage.

The second European open qualifier for ESL One New York offered two spots in the closed stage, one of which went to BLUEJAYS. The Serbian team moved past Turkey5 and WeOnlySnusSiber1a in the bracket before facing Maknitude in the semis.

BLUEJAYS won 16-11 on Inferno but Maknitude hit back on Train, where they made a CT-side comeback to win 16-13. BLUEJAYS wrapped up the series 2-1 with a 16-11 victory on Nuke and punched their ticket to the closed qualifier.

Tricked are through to the closed qualifier

Tricked progressed through the other side of the bracket, knocking out Dragons and Espada before facing off against eL'quvet in the semi-finals. Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen and company lost the first map against the Russian team but managed to recover by winning Train and Nuke. With the 2-1 series victory, Tricked booked their place in the closed qualifier.

The closed stage of the European qualifier will take place on July 9, with four invited and four qualified sides. The winner will qualify for the $200,000 main event which will take place on September 26-29 in New York.
