NRG add stanislaw; bench daps

Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz has replaced Damian "daps" Steele in NRG's active lineup, the North American organization announced on Tuesday.

stanislaw recently parted ways with Complexity following a 14-month stint during which the team most notably achieved a top-eight finish at the FACEIT Major in London.

The 25-year-old Canadian player will take the place of his fellow countryman daps, who joined the organization back in December 2016. During his time with NRG, daps and company won IEM Shanghai 2018 and cs_summit 3. In his statement, daps revealed that his current situation is "unclear" and that he is "open to any offers in any field".

stanislaw did not spend much time as a free agent

NRG currently occupy the #7 slot in the World Ranking, having achieved a string of 3-4th placements at IEM Sydney, cs_summit 4, and ECS Season 7 Finals.

stanislaw will make his debut in the Americas Minor North America closed qualifier, which is set to kick off on June 12. They will also attend a myriad of offline events in the upcoming weeks, including the ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals, ESL One Cologne, and BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles.

The NRG lineup looks as follows:

Canada Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz
United States Tarik "tarik" Celik
United States Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte
United States Ethan "Ethan" Arnold
Bulgaria Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov

United States Chet "ImAPet" Singh - Coach

Stan beat Nrg on major which had firepower shoulders above of that one from COL. You wont beat way more talented lineup with bad igl. Maybe guys didnt like him or something, but he is very talented igl to sat the least. With Insane talent that Nrg have i can see them doing great.

Maybe cocky players dont want igl that is strict, one that like discipline. Lot of players are just kids who dont like being commanded so they dont fully trust igls that want to put them in certain roles, certain positions. Lets wait and see.
2019-06-11 17:58
I don't think trusting Stan is the issue. He's a decent leader but he loses rounds to over aggression pretty often, and that's an issue which needs to be addressed in his play.

it was expected when he step down from col , realistically he had 2 options c9 or nrg , nrg was the most logical. doubt c9 will go back to full na lineup. he probs stepped down cause he had an offer
2019-06-11 17:28
Can igl lol ppl always say that shit about anyone who's ever been an igl before. Daps can igl. He is a bot fragger for sure but he has proven to be able to lead and has managed to lead this team towards the top. We will see what Stan will accomplish but without further info I don't really understand this move.

Considering how daps has played, i think its very justified...
2019-06-11 17:58
i dont understand how people dont wanna realize the potential danger of cutting the brain behind the team like that for an igl that hasnt really done jack shit since the good optic days in 2017. in fact stan has provably failed to accomplish pretty much anything even though he had clear opportunities to do so.
2019-06-11 19:54
yeah when you have a team like Faze that can potentially play in a 4v5 it's fine... but they're not even close to that. Aleksi, gla1ve, even nitr0 bust the 'its fine if he doesn't frag he's the igl' excuse
2019-06-11 18:59
come the fuck on they are supposed to be a team like faze, arent they? thats why they fuckin cut fugly and brought fuckin peanut brain in init lol all of the other 4 are hailed as great individual players. besides: who says they cant afford to have a bot fragger? its gotten them tourney wins and a high placing in the top10, higher than anyone coulda dreamt of. i dont wanna fault them for trying to become even better, im just saying its risky to cut the brain behind the operation bcs u might also just become worse and stanislaw is not a sure call for the job imo.

Anyone who gives a rats ass about the nationality of the team and not about the best possible roster they could make using players from all nationalities obviously doesn't care about the team's success. C9 had no where to go in NA, and thus they branched out in EU and it's been mostly for the better tbh anyone they could have picked up in the NA scene at the time was no where near ready to compete at C9's level. The only NA player rn I think C9 should have their sights on is TenZ.

Granted hunden never made it to anything significant recently or just about ever, 2014 doesn't count either. What top teams igl is strictly an igl and not counted on for some good fragging, igls need to frag now on higher tier teams for the team to be good so he's better since he has the better statistic of fragging imo

Both decent at fragging + IGLing so if one doesn't work out they could trade spots. Plus stan is a great IGL he just had a shit team. He literally carried them at kato
2019-06-11 18:56
i mean we all started somewhere and tarik literally lead c9 to a major starting out as an igl, so if neither tarik nor stan work, they could easily make it work with any of the other three igling, right?

2019-06-11 17:44
Daps clearly lacks the skill to compete in top 10
2019-06-11 17:45
He did compete in the top 5 for quite some time now tho xd Ofc he's trash as a player, but so are other top igls and Stan is but no means a proven replacement. Man this thread looks like Stan is the Canadian gla1ve or some shit lol where is the justification for this
2019-06-11 17:52
His achievements are the justification for it.
2019-06-11 18:47
yeah, if u take the good parts only lol daps has won tournaments with nrg now, much more recently. i could use that angle too.
2019-06-11 19:50
stanislaw worked with way worse players and managed to go top8 on major, way bigger achievement than the 2 shitty events daps won.He looks very mediocre as an IGL.The talent on NRG is top 4 rn and they are way worse,I could blame Daps for it.Meanwhile stanislaw juiced as much talent of complexity giving very nice results for a team that was made for top 30
2019-06-11 19:53
way worse players? and who the fuck was on NRG before they became successful under the leadership of daps?
2019-06-11 21:15
Yes stanislaw had way worse players on complexity and despite that fact they made some great runs on 2018 under his leadership Cerq Brezhe and Ethan were not at NRG when daps first came.Nrg with those 3 and daps, they almost never won if one of them or even 2 didn't go insane 30 frags on a game.
2019-06-11 21:35
cerq was a complete nobody. ethan we thought we'd seen about how far he can go on the old CLG lineup. brehze? no breakout performances yet. wasnt even hailed by many as a huge talent. fugly? washed up motherfucker who had no business playing on any top team. this team became very dangerous to the best in the world at big stretches of last year. think of what ur saying.

And u think stanislaw can do it? Daps bring a lot of top 4 or at least a few of playoff on LAN to this team. We dont actually know yet about stan. Although, in terms of fragging he is way better than daps imo.
2019-06-11 17:13

shitty move. kicking daps will make the team worse, at this point in time. also, not good improvement, on firepower. If you want to replace someone so close to the major, kick tarik and #FREETIM from c9. Maybe it would cost lots of money but THAT would be a real improvement. daps had a lot of impact in the team, obviously not frag-wise. NRG out of top 10 in 3...2...

NRG is really trying hard to get low rank and getting good and up-and-comming players to never wanna play for them. How long didn't they have the same 5-man roster grinding from 40-50th rank to top 10 rank? What was the thanks? kick one and add a washup. Next move: remove the most important part of the puzzle and replace him with a good IGL but that will make so much changes that the 3 remaining players won't have any stability. This team will most likely drop. NRG with Fugly + Daps could have been solidified as #2 in NA Now they should be happy if they are top 10 NA

TARIK MAKING MOVES LUL
2019-06-11 17:16
I really like Daps, but this is not a terrible move. Stan does frag a bit better, and his calling has tended to be pretty good.
2019-06-11 17:16
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA just as things looked up for the na memers, they just toss it away and get an igl that has only been destroying teams that hes been on
2019-06-11 17:17
Unexpected, daps is the guy who brought them structure and is really invested in having a team routine and such (to build chemistry just like in Astralis). While on the other hand, stanislaw is the total opposite. He likes to do stuff on the fly, doesn't really bring structure.. Maybe they will try to help stanislaw have both sides ... Structure, on-the-fly calls & better prep overall... Weird move considering how structured NRG are. Hoping the players can adapt.

Actually, this switch has a high ceiling potential. Theoretically NRG got almost all the pieces except the fragging numbers of daps. With Stan this could be mitigated. However NRG were having ok performances, it could be also pretty greedy. Risky move, but could pay off.

Poor daps :( Always builds up a great team with great talent only to be replaced later by Stanislaw because his fragging isn't there :/
2019-06-11 19:11
Silver kids saying this was a huge upgrade. He's probably the second best IGL in NA right now and they kick him, unbelievable. At least let him be the coach, he deserves it. All their success was bc of Daps, the Mastermind of the team. Even if he's aim is shit, you won't get a better IGLing from Stanislaw. More firepower but less tactics & strategies. GL NRG <3
2019-06-11 19:14
Stan has been IGL for teams, although amateur ones, as far back as 1.6 ESEA leagues. I think this is a good move that will allow NRG to have more success.

Worst move 2019
2019-06-11 19:31
This move worries me, Stanislaw has a pretty individual heavy IGL style where he places himself in a lot of good positions and can frag as result (I don't actually think he's much better than daps individually), just slightly. Stan doesn't have a good track record of setting up and enabling teammates, mostly just himself. I see this backfiring and most NRG players becoming less effective and them ultimately tanking down a bit in ranking.

They are going to get worse. The team is going to die and end up with tarik IGLing
2019-06-11 20:28
I feel like getting Autimatic from C9 in for daps, and then moving daps to coach (and having tarik suck it up and IGL) would have been the ideal scenario (though I'm not sure if that was possible to buy him out). I'm not a fan of this Stan move, seems like too much of a risk with his track record and questionable attitude. I don't see this benefiting NRG long-term. They may see some short-term interim good results, but I doubt it'll last and it will be back to the same old.

to everyone saying -cerq .. CERQ IS THE CORE of NRG without him this team is top 15 at best
2019-06-11 22:11
Cerq isn't a native english speaker though, so I doubt you can say that he's the core of the team. Someone that is from NA like autimatic would be better for NRG just due to communication alone. It's always favorable to have 5 players that speak the same native language as it will just be better for overall team comms, organization, and structure. Take a team like ENCE for example. Cerq is probably the odd guy out next on this one if things don't immediately start going well for NRG after this roster swap; and I think they'll want to try a full NA roster and take a shot at getting autimatic.
