Apeks sign truth; bench Marcelious
One month after parting ways with BTRG, Erik "truth" Hansen Dyrnes has now landed in Apeks as Ole "Marcelious" Kristian Langan has been moved to the bench.
Just weeks after winning the Telia League Spring over local rivals Nordavind in a three-map grand final, Apeks have announced that they are putting 19-year-old Marcelious on the bench to bring on truth.
The move comes just weeks after truth severed ties with the Chinese organization BTRG, where the Norwegian had been plying his trade since the beginning of the year alongside Kristjan "fejtZ" Allsaar, with little notable success.
Moving to the bench will be Marcelious, who had been part of the team since before joining Apeks, when they were known as Kingpins. Back then, truth was also a member of the Kingpins lineup that beat Nordavind in the Telia League Fall 2018 grand final.
The statements from the new signing and the team's manager are the following:
"I am very happy to be back in the club that has taken the best care of me. Now I get the opportunity to help lift the Norwegian scene again. This is a long-term project that I have great faith in."
"We're pleased to announce that truth has accepted our offer. He is incredibly dedicated and has a lot of experience to offer. He is someone that takes chances, and that is something we value highly and can yield positive results. He lives and breathes Counter-Strike.
"It's tough to make these decisions, but our results haven't been good enough. The decision to bench Marcelious was evaluated after this season. People might ask questions, but we think that this was the right decision to do at this time. Ole Kristian is still a young player and I think he has a bright future ahead. "
- Kenneth "Kenkenski" Johansen, manager
With truth's return, Apeks' lineup is now:
Pål "Polly" Kammen
Anders "aNdz" Kjær
Kristian "akez" Kornbakk
Sander "Grusarn" Iversen
Erik "truth" Hansen Dyrnes
Ole "Marcelious" Kristian Langan (Substitute)
