CIS Esports Championships announced with $30,000 in prize money

The CIS Esports League has collaborated with Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko and AVANGAR to launch its first season of the CIS Esports Championships, which will include $30,000 in prize money.

The $30,000 tournament series will aim to advance young, talented teams in the CIS region, and will be divided into three divisions: Open, Semi-Pro and Professional, with the prize money being split between them as follows: $3,200, $4,800 and $22,000.

The initial Open championship will feature eight best-of-one rounds, with the top-32 sides advancing to the Semi-Pro stage. Any team will be available to participate in the opening stage as long as the players are from the CIS region.

The CIS Esports League has collaborated with Zeus for this event

The Semi-Pro championship will have 64 teams, with the top-32 from the first stage being joined by 24 invited sides and by eight additional teams accepted through a special application form.

The main tournament - the Pro Championship - will have 16 teams in attendance and feature a Swiss stage followed by the single-elimination, best-of-three playoffs. The participants will be made up of eight invited sides and by the eight teams who qualified through the Semi-Pro Championship.

All matches for the Pro Championship will be live-streamed, with four of the eight invitees already announced:

The event will run from June 24 through to August 4, with the tournaments being held online on the CIS Esports FACEIT page. Teams can register for the event by clicking here.

More information about the CIS Esports Championship can be found on the organiser's website.
