Maincast has revealed the team list for the GG.BET Chicago Invitational, which will serve as the European qualifier for the upcoming IEM event.
The invitational tournament will run from June 25-28 and will see eight teams square off for the highly-coveted spot at IEM Chicago, where $250,000 will be on the line.
DreamHack Summer winners OpTic, Moche XL Esports champions Windigo, and CIS side AVANGAR are the highest-ranked teams confirmed for the tournament, featuring a GSL group stage followed by a single-elimination bracket with the top two teams from both groups.
Sprout were due to compete in the tournament after winning an open qualifier but ended up forfeiting their spot as IEM Chicago shares the same dates as the Europe Minor, where the German team will be in attendance. Nordavind, who finished in second place in the qualifier, will be taking Sprout's spot in the tournament.
