GG.BET Chicago Invitational team list revealed

Maincast has revealed the team list for the GG.BET Chicago Invitational, which will serve as the European qualifier for the upcoming IEM event.

The invitational tournament will run from June 25-28 and will see eight teams square off for the highly-coveted spot at IEM Chicago, where $250,000 will be on the line.

DreamHack Summer winners OpTic, Moche XL Esports champions Windigo, and CIS side AVANGAR are the highest-ranked teams confirmed for the tournament, featuring a GSL group stage followed by a single-elimination bracket with the top two teams from both groups.

HellRaisers will fight for a spot at IEM Chicago

Sprout were due to compete in the tournament after winning an open qualifier but ended up forfeiting their spot as IEM Chicago shares the same dates as the Europe Minor, where the German team will be in attendance. Nordavind, who finished in second place in the qualifier, will be taking Sprout's spot in the tournament.

Below you can find the group draw in full:

Liquid, ENCE, Vitality and MIBR are the first four teams confirmed for IEM Chicago 2019, which will be held from July 18-21 at the United Center. The final slot at the tournament will be taken by the winner of the North American closed qualifier, scheduled for June 26.

Go go gadget epic style

They should not be because the participants are better in the ranking except nordavind. Nordavind took the second place in the open qualifier for these closed qualifier.

No G2 ????? wtf is this bullshit. It was already dodgy as fuck that they didn't invite G2 to the closed qualifier for Cologne now I'm starting to think there is a conspiracy ...

Maybe invite? It's just that there are teams better than G2 atm, perhaps a good placing at EPL should help their case.

Almost impossible they get direct invite since Vitality is already invited I don't see them inviting 2 french teams directly. However it makes absolutely no sense to not invite them to the closed qualifier you when look at the teams they invited. Fucking Nordaving, Heroic and GamerLegion ahead of G2 ???

Sprout were qualified to Starladder EU Minor, and IEM Chicago same dates as EU Minor, so they can't play and we gave OQ slot to 2nd place - Nordavind
